Since May head to head, Rose has the PGA, they tied at one event, Poulter dusted Rose at the Schwab and U.S. Open, Poulter beat Rose at the St. Jude pretty handily and Poulter had the T4 at the Scottish Open (probably a big deal for the Euros) and Rose didn't compete.

 

Hands down it turns out, Poulter has the edge since the PGA Championship on performance.

 

Still think Rose's back is an issue for him and contributed to his less than stellar year and maybe to not getting picked because of performance and maybe doubt.

Poulter is sublime around the greens…

he is one of the best lag putters and mid distance putters on tour…

and he is bananas good in Ryder cup…

 

His soft hands greenside also make him an ideal alternate shot partner…plus he tends to have a great team attitude which is infectious in ryder cups

Definitely a shame our founding fathers weren't more considerate of Ralph Lauren's designs for future Ryder Cups. Very short sighted of them.
