Remember my old man choking when he heard the price of Wrangler jeans back in the days(129 sek). Persuation was hard but finally successful. And those fckng jeans were the least comfy piece of clothing I ever had... The baggy trousers and the lambs wool sweaters of the late 1970's were a relief...

 

The azz revealers of the early 2000's (that my son sported) wasn't all that pretty either...

I dont thing we were one bit better than the jeans of today. Fashion is a big joke and has always been.

They look pretty bland (compared to Glenmuir), but what I don't like is that one day they have to throw in the official Loro Piana color (burnt orange) which has nothing to do with Europe and looks like a Jordan Spieth college party... (check out my avatar)

In my experience so called designer brands are no better quality than regular shirts. You are paying a massive premium for a name. About 20% of our club are wearing Boss. So much for it being exclusive.

That's definitely a LVMH move to be expanding LP brand into a RC range.  I am sure the quality is still superb, but the appeal not so much.

 

The cashmere from LP is unsurpassed and even better is the vicuña which is the best fabric you can ever find on a sweater or coat.  It looks like they were bargains 10 years ago compared to today.  Glad I was lucky enough to get a "deal" as I would not spend today's prices, but do not need to...the pieces last forever.

 

But polo shirts???  No way.

I think “the people” and TW are about as opposite as you can get.
