Those European Ryder Cup Uniforms are PRICEY!!!

Ralph Lauren's Ryder Cup gear has always been on the pricey side, but not ridiculous...especially since there were frequently on sale post event on the RL website.

 

I didn't realize that Loro Piana, an incredibly high end fashion from Italy that specializes in Cashmere, is dressing the Europeans.

 

$895.00 for a short sleeve polo is sure to bring the game of golf to the masses.  Fortunately, they come in XXXXL...

As far as I know they are still dressed by Glenmuir. 

Looks like this stuff is for the social events? And maybe some waterproofs?

It was definitely Loro Piana that made the European uniforms for 2016 and 2018. I seemed to recall that it was a two cup contract but there is always the possibility that it was extended.

Long after the 2016 Ryder Cup the Euro "Ryder Cup Shop" still had Galvin Green waterproof jackets and deeply discounted - I don't care that it says "Europe", it was a great bargain.  Scored the same after 2018 and figured enough was enough.

 

Guessing what they actually wear may be one thing and what is authorized for the rest of us to buy and for them to make some $ on is another.  

 

Glenmuir is selling this year through the "Ryder Cup Shop" so maybe that's just for us posers, lol.

I went to their website to check out their other stuff.

 

Their best tee shirt is $ 2,940.  And you can get a pretty decent trench coat for...... $ 25,395.

 

I see they have a store here in Toronto, I'll have to drop in when I'm feeling spendy.....

Glenmuir was such an old school brand! For a time there it seemed that if your Club didn’t sell Glenmuir jumpers with the Club logo on it, it wasn’t a real Golf Club 😂 I have some horrible memories of the lambswool ones that we had to wear for team matches. If they got a bit of rain on them they weighed about two tonnes.

Loro Piana used to be probably the most expensive brand. Now Sergio Loro Piana sold the brand to LVMH and now it's just like the other luxury brands. It's still expensive but quality is worse.

That's hilarious, I have 2 green work T shirts I've been wearing under my coveralls for probably the better part of 7-8 years, and they look EXACTLY like that shirt. Like they are identical. My Golden Boys.
