If there’s one guy I would love to see adopt Decade it’s Rory. So much talent but makes an amazing number of boneheaded decisions and big numbers and short sides himself way too often.

5 shot lead on Brooks. 6 shot lead on next closest.

Bigger leads have been lost, but it's a once a decade thing.

All his pursuers are top players, obviously.

I think it’s good that a precision player can still win any tournament. I’m not sure how Bryson’s internal computer processed the spanking he got from Morikawa today in spite of his ~25 mph ball speed advantage.

 

Morikawa reminds me a lot of Faldo in his prime. Great, precise ball striker while being long enough. Smiles more.

Morikawa is too steady to blow a lead like this. Someone has to score -9 to have a chance.

It will take an uncharacteristically messy round from Morikawa and/or a miracle round from someone else so I think it’s unlikely

1:4 suggests something like 75pct to win. Was 1:3.5 earlier, so call it 70-75pct to win, per odds.

Easy stats to find, that kind of lead is safe 85pct of the time, but a lot of that is Tiger influenced (didn't once cough up a 5 shot lead). Take him out, and you're right around 70-75pct to win.

Weird thing here is everyone right below him is a top player. It's not like the weekly tournament with 1 good chaser and the rest of the guys just happy to be in top 10.

He does become world #1 with a win. But I heard something on the broadcast that with the way the points system works he would only be world #1 for a week and then it goes back to Rahm. 
 

That said, good bet to potentially spend a lot of time at #1 in the coming year(s).
