I sure hope not!  I bought a SIM2 Max about a month ago and haven't got to hit it yet!

Sim2 is a good driver, but theres no sim 2 without the OG. The OG was just unique. Low spin bombs, and was a blessing for people who hit over draws. That also made it not the best for everyone as well.

I have used the G400 Max for the past 2 years or so and have been very happy with it. My miss on a bad driving day is a weak cut which can turn into a carve.

Being a WRXer/club ho, I bought a G425 Max over winter (mainly because of the sliding weight).  Based on a couple of rounds with it, during which I hated the sound and didn't see any difference in distance or forgiveness, I'm already thinking of offloading it and returning to the G400 Max.

  • PING G400 Max 9* Tensei Orange 60 S
  • PING Anser 17 / 20* hybrids Graphite Design 85S
  • Miura PP-9003 Straight Neck 4-PW Nippon NS Pro 750 GH wrap tech
  • Miura 52, 56 forged wedges / PING Eye 2 LW Beryllium copper
  • PING Anser 5+ Beryllium copper (1991)

Putter bench:

  • Nordberg Halvdan custom / PING Cushin Scottsdale zip / PING Jim Wells Zing 5KS SN / PING Vault Ketsch TR 400g CB, etc.

My G425 LST is my favorite driver I have ever hit. Never hit the Ping 400. But seems pretty popular here

Yeah, its sort of wild that IMO Ping has always been somewhat mediocre making drivers in the past--then something happened with the Ping G400/410/425 models that they 'figured it out'.

Played my new Rogue ST MAX yesterday.  One round in - a total of 9 tee shots with the driver - and it is the best driver I've ever hit, period.  Not based just on distance.  Not sure it could out-distance my TM SIM when pured, but based on the distance of misses.  I hit two drives yesterday - should say mis-hit two drives yesterday - that with the SIM would have been low, right, and short.  With the Rogue ST they were still straight and amazingly long - like not-miss-hit long - like almost pure long.  Most forgiving driver I've ever swung.  And I need it 🙂

OG TM SIM is number two.

TM M3 440 is number three.

There are only so many poll options lol and the SiM 2 seems to be clearly superior to the OG SIM by people comments lol

then get rid of the m3/m4.   SIM was such a good driver.  Those who like the SIM 2 are right to do so, but many still prefer the OG SIM.  Outside of those two and M2, no driver made by TM in the last 10 years comes close. (Stealth still tbd)

The honeymoon period, one should never build opinions based on those few 1st rounds. 😄

But Rogue ST Max does sound very promising in all, combining general consensus of fitting and review videos online and forum members opinions and testing findings.

Going to put the Rogue ST Max against my G400 Max tomorrow, interesting to see if there is some gains to have there. I fear the draw biased that's built in to the Rogue ST Max is going to be a deal breaker for me potentially.

After G400 Max I have gamed Epic Flash, G410 Plus, SIM Max, SpeedZone, RadSpeed XB and G425 Max and now I am back to the G400 Max, it gives me the most optimal numbers and is the less biased of all these clubs for some reason, just excellent design.

I have much different views on recent Ping drivers than most, for me the 410 Plus out performed the 425 by miles and I also got better results with it over the 400 MAX as well even though it was not as great as dramatic as with the 425. Curious if any others had similar results

First if all where do you get off not including the Hammer X!?!?

I play a Sim2 but here is the list:

1. Ping G425 (90% of golfers could play this)

2. Sim 2 (solid all around, only know how is not a lot of adjustability)

3. Epic Flash (great driver, but more importantly is the use of AI in design work)

G400 Max for me. I bought three of these but only played one last season. Easily the best driver I have ever owned. I tried different drivers last summer and this winter and it just can't be kicked out of my bag. I got the tour shaft and I played the Alta CB shaft last season. The tour shaft made it even better.

I think the Epic Flash Sub Zero needs some love here. I think it was the first "low spin" specific driver head that was also really forgiving. Usually you're looking at one or the other. I'm sure other iterations in the couple years since are even better, but that gets my vote.

Sounded awful, though.

I'm biased to all metal drivers, I don't enjoy the sound or feel of anything with carbon usually. There have only been 3 drivers in the last 12 years that have be amazing for me. They all felt like big steps up in one way or another.

TSi3 is the only one that has caught my attention recently, still haven't been able to pull the trigger on it though. I want to take a look at the new Rogue ST triple diamond LS.

What are your thoughts between these two, LST more forgiving for you?

I’ll just say I’m playing the TSi3. Maybe cause the TSi3 was newer. It is longer But both heads at 8.5 setting, same shaft, dialed in swing weights The TSi was more forgiving…… for me.  That’s saying a lot because I loved the LST
