The UW is going in the bag instead of the 7wood for sure.

I just ordered a TSR3 5 wood to test against my TSR2 7 wood. I just seem to enjoy the feel of the TSR3 better than the 2 and I'm planning on lofting it up with the same TR blue 8x shaft. I love my TSR3 16.5⁰ lofted down so we will see how this goes.

Interested in your results with this. I have TSR2 7 and TSR3 5, but worried about gapping. I found the TSi2 7 was so hot it almost went as far as TSi3 5. But I went with a shorter shaft and heavier head this year in the 7 to try to create a better gap. Still haven't had a chance to test much.

Very interesting.   It says TSR3 and has the weight adjustment stuff I'd expect.

But that FW like shape is very un TSR3 like.   A TSR2 hybrid that deep front to back would be a surprise, but I find it shocking in TSR3.   The shape says TSR1 to me.

What's more, the hosel says 5 24.   A hybrid in the class of TSR3 with that much loft would be a first for Titleist.

Obviously this is just speculation, but I think these are meant to be more of a competitor to the Callaway UW than a typical hybrid. The TSR3 pictured makes perfect sense if that's the case, basically an adjustable super hybrid-type club with weight forward and adjustable - I'd be surprised if we don't see something similar from Callaway and others this year as well given the popularity of the UW.  This also aligns with the greater usage of 7W that we're seeing - seems like a lot of stronger players have struggled to find a hybrid that works for them but are finding success with this sort of club.

Titleist usually maintains 3* gaps in it's hybrids, so I'm thinking if 5 is 24*, 3 would be 18*, basically fitting in between a standard 5 and 7 wood when factoring in the slightly slower swing speed of a hybrid-length shaft.  Again, all speculation, but if that's the case, I can potentially see this paired with a strong 3 wood being a great 1-2 punch for someone like me that fights spin and doesn't struggle to launch the ball. Fingers crossed that's how it works out anyway.

I hope your speculation is accurate because what you have described is exactly what I am looking for.  I dabbled in the UW but ended up going with the wrong loft therefore not meeting my yardage gaps - ended up going back to my Titleist Hybrid.  I prefer the Titleist look and feel as well as their adapter which helps dial in launch, start-line and yardage.  I find the Callaway adapter to be rather bulky in the FW/Hybrids and lack the lie angle adjustability so if they update the UW with their adjustable COG, I would still lean to Titleist.

My TSR 3 Driver just came in which i ordered to a swingweight playing at length 44.75 the head weighs 204g.  Haven't had a chance to test it yet.  Will report back, as i ordered it with a Ventus Black 6x, but also have a speeder NX 7X im going to test.

What swing weight did you order your driver in and what did it actually come as? Ordering same length as you 44.75" with a Drago 65 stiff and rep is telling me I only need +2g for D3. I want D3/D4 and that sounds way too little. Also, getting TSR2+ 3wood at 42.75" (-0.25") and wondering if +4g is good for D3. 70g shaft.

Normally you would need about +8-9g for that amount of shaft shortening (driver), but it depends on the balance point of that shaft and on your grip choice. For the TSR2+, need about +3g to get it back to D3 (but again, depends on the shaft, and grip).

I've heard the TSR 7 wood is a cheat code when it comes to ease of launch. I struggle with low launch and low spin with my hybrids, so this is probably the key change i'm looking to make to my bag this year (swapping hybrid for 7 or 9 wood). Would the potential UW be higher flying than the 7 wood? I was planning to get fit for the 7 wood here soon but wondering if I should wait for a potential UW and hit both.

I was planning the same and gonna do the same. Waiting for the new “UW” we all hope is coming out. No rush for me in the Northeast got a few months before the season starts back up.

love the 7wood club but this is very intriguing

I got fit this past fall and wound up getting the 7W. Definitely agree it’s a cheat code. Really looking forward to this summer season to use it (I live in WI).

I figured for the amount of times I’d need to hit a 220-230 club are super small a round. If so I could use the loft for stopping power. If not I can play the ball back and then let the ball run out a bit.

interested to test out the hybrid and maybe UW this spring!

Please can anyone with TSR drivers provide some info to contribute to the headweight reference thread I'm trying to get going. So basic information required is what the headweight is without shaft and adapter and what the weight of any removable weights are please as that determines scope for fine tuning

My TSr4 driver head weight is 181g without any weights or adapter installed and before hotmelt. I have a 5g and 13g weight installed in in now ( green and blue). I’m not sure that will help much because I’d imagine the 3 and 2 heads are a little heavier.

Honestly I won't decide until spring when I can play outside with them side by side. Played one round late last year with them and TSR2+ is a lot easier to hit will just depend on carry and roll out

I mean for any driver head from any brand they certainly have a target weight in mind but they are all going to be different. Look at any head off a tour truck and they have the exact weighting labeled so they can cherry pick a particular head for a particular build.

Looking for a little feedback on the driver heads from you guys that have spent some time with them.

I’m a high launch/high spin player generally, prefer to play a cut off the tee, and am currently playing a TS3 (not TSI3) 9* turned down to 8.25* with a 1k Black 65x shaft playing at 45.5”. Good swings on trackman with my ball of choice (Bridgestone RX) net 260 carry, 275-280 total with an average club head speed of around 105 and ball speed of 155ish and spin around 2600-2700 and launch in the 14-15* range. Misses tend to be more vertical than horizontal on the club face. I wouldn’t mind a little extra forgiveness for the days I’m not swinging it great (practice time is low with a two year old at home).

I get that I’m leaving some distance on the table with this higher launch and spin currently, just not sure which of the TSR heads might be the best fit. The TSR2 in 8* is what I’m thinking, along with the 1k Black in 75x and playing at 45” to help with smooth out the tempo and drive better contact, but I haven’t seen any reviews of other players that fight higher spin with similar speeds so I’d welcome any recommendations you have on where to start with this series of driver heads.

I’ll be testing in a sim over the coming months and outdoors when spring demo days come around again as well before purchasing in March/April. I’ve never been a great driver of the ball and am looking to optimize both my swing and set up to remedy that in 2023.

This will absolutely come out.  Based solely on the fact that I bought a TSR 5w and U505 17* to battle it out.  Why not a 3rd option that fits right in the middle.🤦‍♂️

There are 3 head weights for each model from the manufacturer.

standard

standard minus
standard plus.
Then you add hot melt and weights to get the desired swing weight biased on shaft length weight and grip.

Head only target weights are below for drivers. This is what fitting heads would be.

TSR2 is 186 grams with no weights no adapter just head and hot melt and the screw

TSR3 is 187 grams with track cover hotmelt and screw

TSR4 is 181 for just head hot melt and screw no weights.
Then weights are selected based on build length shaft weight and grip selection.

hope this helps.

This is not a UW it’s just a hybrid. New hybrids are right around the corner. TSR1 TSR2 TSR3. There just a bit bigger then you might be use to.

How's everybody feeling about their TSRs after looking at the new stuff? Was interested to see what was coming out with all the hype, but nothing's blown me away. Haven't hit any, and don't think I'll need to. Anyone else feeling the same?

Not phased at all. TSR still best looking bar far and I'm sure performance stacks up to anything. Love it.
