The 150th Open (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS/REFERENCES ***)

If fellow countryman Lagergren manages to qualify somehow, don´t know if there are any chances left or if he even has qualified somehow, he has a shot. The kind of guy that misses cuts galore but once he dont he contends, and he has played extremely well on Old Course, in the Dunhill Event. Otherwise, Oosthuizen, the cheesehouse to all Scandinavians, would be a nice little win for his cause, and he has showed he knows his way around on that sacred piece of land.

Otherwise, I do look forward to this, even if the stretch 12-tee shot 16, even if sacred, is arguably the most boring stretch of holes in major golf save last nine Pinehurst. It was good for sheep to effectively chew grass and early day mowers of the same liliopsidias, but well... Hope the TV guys can make them some kind of justice. From there in, of course epic. Kind of 1/AN.

How many of you guys have been standing gloating at that piece of grass that constitutes holes 1 and 18?  Playing it was great, the caddie Sandy that loost hees veergeeniti in sankt androos just made it even better. Sacred land.

Just had a wee each way punt on Victor Perez.

125/1 and quarter odds for a top five was too tempting.

I would love to see Tiger pull one out....not sure how likely that is but the Old Course is probably his best chance at this point in his career.

Seriously not being a smart aleck in all sincerity---- I hope he can walk pain free and make the cut and play the weekend pain free. I think he has a honest shot if he can walk it and play pain free

I always love to see heads explode. I always love to hear commentators switch to a deeply concerned voice or to one with which one would read a eulogy.
So I guess I am all for a four man play-off between Koepka, DJ, Garcia and Oosthuizen.

Yesterday Mc Ginley said Jason Day's back was in a "drecipid state" and he had to withdraw from the event. Trust me one of my partners in tomorrows shootout is a UK native and has a great since of humor and I will give him he double Hockey sticks on that one---- if he does not make a quip on me first

Rory has to step up and take the course by the reins. Suits his draw, superb bunker player and can reduce half of the par 4s to wedge shot seconds. I will add in Louis as he knows how to win there and Shane Lowry.

He may do well after taking off and resting some both physically and mentally. He looked both physically and mentally drained when he started coming unwound last week

Unfortunately, pain-free is not likely in TW’s vocabulary anymore.

Lagergren has saved his card on the European Tour a number of times from a top performance at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

My pick is the Fans will be the big winner 🙂

This is always one of my favorite weeks of the golf season.  Then sadly the season is effectively over with since they moved the PGA Championship from August to May 😞

It is said that the Old Course is a poor course for spectating.  On the other hand, watching from a balcony or window on The Links Rd, or The R&A that fancy Clubhouse over on Golf Pl,  could be a real treat.  With high definition TV, the best seat in the house is your living room.

I think that Team 54 exhibition golf is foolishness and nonsense with silly names.....but I'd love to see that.........that would send the world of golf into total chaos with me leading the charge....LOL!

But they all have to make the cut first.....right!?!

I kind of agree here. August used to be TOO crowded with Firestone, PGA champs, RC, Fedex, Olympics and what not. A bit too quiet now. Watching DP bein european august and september normally have some good tournaments going though.

But yeah, the meaty part of the tour year has become compressed.

I’d love to see Rory or YJS win. I think Hideki is back in form, so it would be nice to see him win as well. Dark horse is Padraig Harrington; at +15000 why not?
