Adjustable weight irons have always peaked my interest. The main reason is because of the way I can setup the set progression. Like most, I don't struggle with strike/direction with short irons. However, long irons are a different story certain days. Would love to be able to back up toe strikes with a heavy weight. Also, love the idea of being able to easily play with swing weight progression of the set

4. why do you want to test the edel irons - because I have played the sms wedges since they came out and I absolutely have never hit a better wedge.  I like my current irons. But if these are as good as the wedges - there’s room to gain.

4. Got the opportunity to test SMS wedges a playing partner has, and was very impressed. I often test lots of different irons, and the ability to tailor weighting and cg to match player’s desired flight and tendencies is an intriguing concept.

4. Why do you want to test Edel's SMS irons? I hit my Honmas beeter than any iron that I've played before, but the lofts are a bit strong so I have trouble holding hard greens. The SMS irons lookk like they would give me close to the same distance as the Honmas, but with more spin & control.

I was at Edel HQ a couple months back for the fitting of these before they launched, but didn’t have the $ to buy them yet. I’m an Edel “homer”: SMS wedges, and EAS 1.0 putter!

4. Why do you want to test Edel's SMS irons? Two of my three "specialist" wedges are Edel SMS. I am a true believer in the Edel difference. I was an Edel wedge user for the past six years and quickly transitioned to SMS as they became available. I believe in the "tuneablility" to match my swing without having to have PGA Tour-type attention.   
5. Are you willing to do an in-depth written review, with high quality photos, and future updates? I am willing to provide an in-depth assessment of my current set of irons vs. Srixon ZX-7 irons, and the Edel SMS irons on the range and on the course. If selected, I will provide detailed, professional photographs which will include a mid-high handicap strike pattern with each iron (traditional) and the SMS irons in each of the weight positions using either foot powder or impact labels at a minimum of 10 strikes per traditional iron and 10 strikes per weight location for the SMS irons. All testing will be completed either on course or on a grass (dirt) range with reasonable attempts to maintain consist lies. I am offering the opportunity for an aging golfer (52 y/o) review of how the "everyman" public course golfer will benefit (I hypothesize) from this technology based on my experience with the SMS wedges. I have an average driver swing speed of 100-105 mph and am typically a slightly over the top "picker" with a bit of EE that is working to improve. My hypothesis is that this iron set using the SMS technology will allow me to evolve my swing without changing irons because each weighting position will compliment the change in delivery as I improve. Regardless if I am selected to review, I will be purchasing a set for the 2023 season.
