The older he gets, the better he was. If AK doesn’t make a comeback, he’ll probably have a few majors in a couple of years.

As a former student of journalism, that's lovely writing. 

 

There's nothing factually incorrect in that bit. The legend says he was the next coming of Tiger when he wasn't ever close. And it's weird that everyone makes such a big deal about some $10MM insurance thing. My dawg Max Homa won that much in one year last year and he didn't win anything particularly notable. And discounting any sponsorship numbers.

 

AK split because he didn't want to play professional golf anymore. That's all.

Wrong on both accounts. Rahm’s team is official and LIV has three individual spots available for each event. I believe the individual aspect is to appease OGWR. One step closer to securing points.

Dude, that was a joke. Pretty clear what he said after that swing. Also, no, the guy I was referring to was Kevin Scheller, Anthony’s coach. James may have been there too. Haven’t met him personally, but there’s a few coaches in that vid. If James was teaching at Woodley around this time, he would have had Brady’s blessing, so no doubt he’s an amazing coach. To be fair, I was only around this group between 2001-2004. The juniors I saw grinding out there (like AK and Ben Fox) would have predated the upload date for this one.

I have steered clear of this one. That was mainly down to the fact, that I was never a huge fan of AK. Not much that he did put me up nor down. I never really paid too much attention to what he did whilst he was on Tour. That such a folklore could develop around him baffled me. I honestly, cannot think that he is expecting to return and have anything of a game which is close enough to competing whether that be on the PGA Tour or more likely LIV.

 

All I can picture with his return (if it happens) is a golfing version of a bang average pop band with one or two catchy songs in amongst a few albums of inoffensive but unlistenable dross coming back to great fanfare, and a quick payday, before returning to obscurity.

what will be the rules on the individuals can they win the big check for the week how does that they factor into the year round individual competition. are they eligible to play for a team with an injury. this seems like one of those last minute rule adjustments by liv.

I'd be stunned if he could finish Top 40. LIV still has a whole roster of actual golfers who have been in between the ropes for the last 5-10-12 years.

AK has been on the LIV tour for two years now.  

 

It just took a while for someone to watch a broadcast and notice.

Seeing a couple posts about it from X from accounts that Anthony Kim is indeed returning next week to play in LIV Jeddah as a wildcard.  

 

Hope to see that swagger back.  Supposed details:

 

- Playing on a short term contract in a wild card spot

- Small signing bonus with performance based incentives  built in. LIV was very interested in AK but wasn't going to pony up large sums if he couldn't prove he could play at an elite level.

- AK believes he has what it takes to compete at any level and is willing to bet on himself. 

- Potential for contract extensions before end of season if he's competing.
