knowing the course was pretty wet, yesterday I used a 56/14 wedge and it worked well both from bunkers and rough around the greens. might be a bit bouncy for drier times.

Short ones or short sided is the TM Hi Toe 60 10 with four way sole. Longer shots is the Cleveland RTX4 56 10 full grind. I did give the 56 some heel and trailing edge relief.

For longer bunker shots i.e. over 20 feet I use a lower lofted club, which one depends on the distance. Same full stroke every time.

Thanks for the replies. I've been messing around with my wedges recently and trying to figure out what to go to out of bunkers. Right now I've got a 62-10 and a 56-10 in the bag. Not sure if that's enough bounce on the 56 for me out of bunkers. Our bunkers just got uncovered, so I haven't had a chance to hit any shots out of them. I'll never open up the 56 around the greens, just in the bunkers. It will just be used for straight forward chips and pitches. The 62 would be the club that I open up around the greens. I would rarely use it from the sand.

Up until recently 56°/10 but I've recently switched to a 54°/12, 58°/9 combo.
I'm liking this setup as we have a few bunkers at my home course in front of greens that require a long carry to get to the green , especially if the pins at the back of the green and the 54° gives me that extra carry. For greenside bunker shots the 58° does the job.

Square grind on a Nike Engage, which has proved to be pretty versatile to me. I will use it in greenside bunkers, and 9 iron in mid range bunkers (20 to 70 yards)

Vokey 60.06 K-grind (low bounce)
I enjoy using it anywhere from about 90 yards and in, though the sand is where the grind really proves its worth. The wide sole pretty much guarantees a decent or better out for me. Its great around the green and I have no problem opening it up for different shots. Definitely has inspired confidence.
This type of grind demands near perfect contact, but there isn't a more versatile wedge than one with a wide sole and lower bounce.

Great question, in my opinion, and is the reason I don't "simplify" my wedges. I seem to encounter two types of sand, with relatively little predictability as to which I'll encounter on any given day: 1) hardpan with a thin dusting of sand on top or 2) deep, fluffy stuff that has little "substance". For the first case, I use a 60/8 and for the second, a 56/14.
If I get lucky and end up in a bunker with decently dense sand of decent depth, then either club would work for me, but I rarely get so lucky.
