Taylormade Spider Tour Putters

I had the Tour Black and exchanged it for the Platinum. I just could not get with the toe hang, nor did I like the insert on the black.

I putted lights out this weekend and had ZERO 3 putts. The only thing is I wish the would included a counter core weight with the putter. I had an extra one and put the 50 gram in the handle and it's awesome.

I know the weights on these are fixed in. My question is are the glued in and can they be removed at all to add a little more weight to the head?

Thanks! One of my plugs is missing, glued in. I ordered a weight set and plan to drill and tap to add weights. I will post results if anyone is interested.

Just scored a JD Red amd comes with extra weights. Can't wait to roll this one! I have had Spiders for years, tried the DJ, and think the Red will be just right with the softer insert. We shall see.

Also, the guy had it adjusted to 4* loft amd 71* lie. Sounds good to me.

I thought that might be the case, I am loving it as is. I don't want the honeymoon to ever end. This thing is simply on auto-pilot.

Ok, so I ha e played the WHP #7 at 33" 2 loft 70 lie since it came out. I have also purchased over 10 putters since then as well. None of these putters ever made it into the bag. This DJ putter has not only made it into the bag, it is NOT leaving for a long time. I cut mine to 33", left loft and lie alone. I put a Flatso 1.0 on it as well as a sightline. I then switched the weights from 2G to 5G (get as close to 360G as possible. Left to right putts have always been difficult for me, but not anymore. The lag putting is exceptional (my club has 11+ greens) and this putter has great feel. It is a winner for sure...

After several poor putting rounds I took the bait and bought one. No regrets. It is an awesome putter. I have a SS Pistol GTR grip and the feel is amazing. I thought this was a gimmick putter when released but I am happy to say it is not. Love it

I had a hard time finding one of these where I live. Been looking for a couple of weeks and had my name on a few waiting lists. Wanted to hit them both before purchasing. The golf galaxy down the street had the Jason Day but someone took a big chunk out of the paint on the bottom. I stopped in several times to hit it but they would not take much off the price so I decided to wait. I stopped bye today and someone was returning the spider tour black, still in the original packaging. I took it over to compare it against the tour red and much preferred the feel of the tour black. Bought on the spot. I normally play a 34" but got a 35". The tour red was 34" and felt short to me. I swear these play 1" shorter than marked. Love the putter. Can't wait for golf league next Wed.

You guys are killing me... can't wait for my Red to show up.

I had the black and now the red. You're gonna like the red. I think it feels so much better than the black.

Good to hear. Thanks. Like Insaid in another post, I had the Black for a day, and did not like the insert, but did not give it a chance. The Red seems right up my alley. Yes, buying blind is the GolfWrx way!

Not sure why but I also feel they play a bit short.

Just got my Spider back from Continental... They do phenomenal work! I had them paint an orange finish and purple sole plate (I'm a die hard Suns fan). Also had them install an orange Pure grip to match!

Felt short to me as well but I play my putter long.

I measured the 35" black I was testing and it came in at 34.5.

GTR tour, GTR 1.0 or the tour SNSR are my three top choices right now.

Red limited, cut it to 33 and slapped on a mid 3.0 super stroke. Thing is money.

they can be removed as they are held in place with double sided tape. Not weights, more like thin aluminum disks. The weight pockets are not milled out but there's a little room. It would be easy to drill and tap for weights, although they would protrude from the pockets.

Was playing a Ping Ketsch, but decided to try an Evnroll 7 and a Spyder Black. I have some arc in my swing, but also need the stability of a mallet. Liked the Evnroll but was having trouble with getting speeds right. The DJ black, by contrast, has been amazing. Have had some very long putts that I've come very close to holing. First time I played with it was on slow greens--holed three straight putts from over ten feet. Today played on very fast greens--except for one three putt, which was my misread, I putted very well. The DJ is in the bag and I ain't lookin' back.

Put the spider black tour in play this weekend. I was impressed by how well I putt despite no line up line. Almost sank my first 2 putts of the day for birdies, missing them by literally an inch from the cup. I think I did still have 1 or maybe 2 three putts, but that's more my poor approach shot landing 70 feet away, rather than the putter being of a poor design or quality.

Will be interesting to see if it can hold off the EVNROLL and O works #7.

Don't you all know that this putter will be sitting in the garage, in your spare golf bag right next to your Cleveland hibore come next year when you purchase your new putter?

And next to your Cameron, that Evnroll that supposedly changed the world, a Ping, that Odyssey O-works and an old two ball. This is wrx so of course you're going to have a new putter by next year and a few "back ups" :taunt: Might as well enjoy the latest and greatest this year.

Much in the GTR Tour v GTR 1.0?

Looking to get one installed in the midnight/red but can try them first before they are ordered.

Just picked up a Midnight Red GTR 2.0 for my Red Tour. Man that feels nice using left hand low grip.
