What is your "superscore" at your course?

Recommended Posts

I posted earlier about the all time score, but here is my 2022 score:

-17 (55)

Birdie all but hole #2

No eagles

Started keeping track in 2020 and got to -18 (54) with all birdies

Made an eagle in 2021 and birdied all to get to -19 (53)

Dang hole #2 this year.  Could have been worse though.  Chipped in on #17 on 12/29 to knock that one off.

Just going back over the earlier years of playing my home course and playing it A LOT- I KNOW I birdied every hole at least once. Eagled all the par 5's and a couple of the Par 4's. Rough estimate would be a 48 @ 24 under. A shorter course at just under 6000, but hey- gotta find fairways and greens.

No Aces, though- 48 years and counting.

Current course I play most often these days is probably closer to a 52/53. A couple of holes really have my number. And I haven't played this one nearly as much as the first.

Adding to the resurrection of the thread...

My course is par 71, with three par 5's.  I've birdied every hole on the course.  I've eagled all three par 5s.  I've chipped in for eagle on par 4 14th hole.  And, I've got one ace.

Which gets me to a 48 (-23).

Could be a stroke lower if I'd ever converted any of the eagle putts I've had on the short par 4 12th, that I used to drive a few times every year (until I got old).

With apologies for quoting myself...

I managed to eagle the above mentioned 12th hole this year.  Not with a putt, but a 54 yard pitch shot from the fairway.  Great fun.  😁

Down to -24 / 47....

My 'superscore' for my home course is -18.  I have birdied everything but the par 4 sixth and par 4 seventeenth.  I eagled the par 5 ninth and par 4 tenth holes.   I have literally played close to a hundred rounds there.  Maybe 2024 will be the year I finally concur those two nemesis holes.

I've birdied them all at least once, eagled each the four par fives at least once, and canned a couple on one par three and one on another, so whatever that is.

I've shared my career score earlier, but for 2023 season, my ringer score would be 54, which is 17-under par.  Birdied 16 of the 18 holes on the course, and also eagled one of those 16 holes.

The two holes I didn't record a birdie were especially annoying, as I had several legit chances on both.  One is a 380 Blue Tee / 345 White Tee uphill par 4 that saw me leave two or three putts on the lip.  The other is an obnoxious 200 Blue Tee / 175 White Tee par 3 that plays into the prevailing wind.

This par 3 has an interesting story...   the green is not the original green.  The hole had originally played 200 yards, uphill, from the white tees.  It was enough of a problem that they would tell everyone to have the group behind you hit before you putted out, as it would create a huge backup.  So they moved the green 25 yards down and to the right, but created something with a fair bit of slope, several undulations creating mini ridges, and creating a bowl effect long and left with the slope they moved down.  It's quite the lovely piece of work.

You're also hitting over water.  🙂

I've taken this far afield, but I'll add one last thing anyway.  This is an image taken from the tee.  I don't feel it quite captures the full entertainment of the hole.

The one 10 minutes from home, 51 or -21. Only eagled 2 of the par 5 holes and one par 4.

I've played my home course so many times, I can't remember what holes I've had birdies on lol. I do know which ones I've eagled though. I looked at my scoring app and all time could be 23 as I've had enough birdies to birdie all par 4's, and par 3's, plus I know which ones I've eagled. I would say it's probably like 25 or 26 as I'm uncertain I haven't birdied a couple par 4's.

I've eagled 3-5-8-10-14-18 on my course and birdied the rest. Played the same course for 5 years and get 100+ rounds in a year.

3 driveable par 4's helps. Its a shorter course at 6300 yards fully tipped out. I think I've birdied 5-10-14 the three par 4's I can reach about 5 times each at least.

-24 I'd take it!

6 years later I would like to add: Hole out eagle on #2, albatross ace on driveable par four #5 and an ace on par three #11.

I fluctuate between a 1 to a 5 handicap and have a goal at my course to birdie every hole and eagle all the par 5's every year.  We are a 27 hole layout.  my rounds played this year were down and my hadicap was up during the warmer months, so I did not hit that goal this year.  I did last year, but have only made an eagle on four of the par 4's an none of the par 3's.  Our par 5's are all reachable for me with a good drive with an iron and ok drives with a 5 wood.
