Does any fan really care who wins the Fedex Cup?

I don't care a heck of a lot who wins any golf tournament, except when it's the one Tour player I know personally (who of course I'd like to see win every week).

But once the Premier League kicks off in a couple weeks what little "care" I have about golf will go to absolute zero. Golf is only watchable if it's too dark, too cold or too rainy to play myself and there's nothing else to watch on TV.

It is almost a metaphysical impossibility to watch two soccer games in the morning, then tune across to golf in the afternoon and sit through more than five minutes of it, ten minutes tops. Golf on TV is sooooooo booooooring!

Get rid of the other playoff events or at least 1 or 2 of them, have the PGA the first weekend in August, and get the TC done the Sunday before NFL kicks off. And get golf out of the olympics.

The PGA is a glorified tour event. It was an afterthought in August. Much better in May.

Plus we got the classic booty grab on 18!

The four tournaments are nice because the best players are in them, generally, but the whole playoff system concept is so contrived its ridiculous. I don't care who wins any of the events or the FC, just who wins thelast tournament.

I really don't understand why the FedEx Cup has playoff events. Don't pros hope to be consistent throughout the year? It should just be a cumulative points total at the end of the year. The constant updating up the events and format seems weak too.

I only care about majors. I do think the Tour pros care a lot though. It's a significant amount of money even for the rich.

Billy Horschel got hot at the right time and won $10M and has $12M total in the Fed Ex. He's won $21M on tour. He's loaded no matter what. But real earnings going from $21M to $33M is a big deal.

Your ability to misquote and twist other peoples words qualifies you for political office or at least a news media job.

That is EXACTLY what he said. No misquoting. "Playoffs are good tournament but I find so cute PGA Tour is trying to convince us it's a big deal when it's not, like the Players."

Yes, that is exactly what he said. Then YOU twisted his post to say "You think the most premier tournaments run by the PGA Tour are not "a big deal"?

"most premier tournaments" are your words.

Are the Players Championship and the FedEx playoff events not the most premier tournaments run by the PGA Tour?

I don't understand the vitriol directed at the FedEx Cup playoffs. It replaced nothing of value on the tour schedule and created something that has more juice than what came before.

It's like people who complain incessantly about Golf Channel's Morning Drive. You can complain if you want, but you do realize it replaced infomercials? Would you rather watch infomercials instead?
