"not even debatable" usually means "don't challenge me because I can't support my statement"

Not at all. The numbers support me which I'm sure you know but will still argue until your fingers go numb. The media knows it, fans know it and the advertisers definitely know it. You are arguing from the flat Earth position.

Just because you and I might watch every week doesn't change the FACT that more people watch when Tiger plays and he moves the needle more than anything. You are trying to somehow say apples+oranges= 56.

Before responding, and you will over and over again, try to remember that your habits are not those of the golfing public. YOU may do a certain thing but you are ignoring facts. That's not debatable either.

I watch golf on tv for about three reasons.

1) It's a major. I'll dvr and watch all four rounds.

2) The course. I like architecture so I watch when they are on interesting courses. (PH#2, Austin CC, Riviera, Old White)

3) When I want quite by myself. I lock myself in my room in my recliner and may have it on to take a nap to.

But millions do, as shown by the ratings. No one comes close to Tiger in drawing fans to watch.

Yeah, considering both CBS and NBC have college football games on Saturday, that wouldn't work.

I'd have to agree with Rose on this.

Mucking up several decades of tradition to accomodate the Fed Ex cup before football starts is just stupid.

I had no problem with The Player's moving to March. It was there for years. if anything, I'd like the PGA to be a little flexible with their date so they could have it in various parts of the country.

Tiger Woods now leads the Tour Championship!

Coverage now continues on Golf Channel.

Coming up on NBC, Notre Dame football.

not sure if it has been mentioned, but on KMOT other day on XM Radio. They were mentioning how Rose played the same amount of tournaments between the start of the season and the Masters. This year he played just 1 event between the Masters and the PGA, which was the same as between the Open and the PGA last year. And the same amount of tournaments between US Open and The Open.

Interesting that he has basically had the same amount of 'prep' to peak between all the majors as last year, when he wasn't saying anything. I will agree that this golf season did feel a bit off though.

Antoine Griezmann albeit he made that documentary about himself.

Including the Players it use to go April/ May/ June/ July/ August. Now its March/ April/ May/ June/ July. Last year the 5 events spanned roughly 18 weeks. This year it's also 18 weeks. It all just starts a month earlier. I dont get what the problem is.

Beside the Ryder Cup, golf after 9/1 is so irrelevant in the US. Not debating the merits of the FedEx cup, but it's bad for the game when no one cares about or watches your tour playoffs.

the ratings will be way higher in August then when it went up against football all weekend. And that is better for the game.

Golf before Augusta in April is irrelevant as most of the country hasn’t picked up a club in several months.

How were the ratings for the players moving from May to March?

I think it's time to take the Tour global - make it more like a Formula 1 season where you have 18-20 marquee events around the world where all the best players play. You can still have a US swing in summer if it keeps the screaming hordes happy between whatever parochial ball games you decided to invent for yourselves, but it would be great to see a global tour with all the best players teeing it up in some of the iconic courses in Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe - sort of like an extended WGC, with a Championship event at the end to decide the overall winner.

It might be a little bit bad for golf, but it's really bad for the smaller tournaments that get stuck between the Master and the Open. I don't see how this every can be fixed with the current schedule.

Agreed. Huge mistake to move it. The move just makes tour golf more irrelevant to me. But then again probably doesn't matter much since I find the US TV coverage nearly unwatchable due to commercials every 3 mins.

In August the PGA was almost an afterthought. Now it sets up with more interest as the first major after the Masters.

Obviously the PGA agreed with you or they wouldn't have moved it. I liked having a major in August however. As of Sunday the golf season is over.

The whole compressed feel, is because a major (PGA) is now scheduled too soon after the most popular major (The Masters). Augusta and then the U.S Open always had a "stand out" feel with their dates being spread apart. Now, none of the majors have that feel, because they all happen too soon after the previous one.

I wish they had kept everything the same, except moved the PGA 1-2 weeks further back in August, to space it apart from the British Open
