your current (new) favorite wedges and why??

earlier in the week I hit the Jaws and T20's..... feel in love with the t20!! They'll probably replace my MG2's. For my swing they blew away the Jaws. I went in to it 90% convince I would buy 3 Jaws' wedges but the T20's outperformed them in every way

Granted this is indoors off a mat but contact was better, face felt softer, spin was higher, and flight seemed lower which I need for my game. I wasn't patient enough to wait and order the raw wedges so I ended up buying the chrome from the store in a 52, 56, 60

Glide 3.0s are on probation in my bag. I want to like them, I like the feel; but my first 4 rounds with them they were hot and cold.

I switched my bag set up to now carry 46, 50, 54, and 58. Previously used a 3 wedge set up with Vokey SM7s (52 and 58).

I am going to try a two-pronged approach.....I am going to reshaft the Glide 3.0s as I feel the shafts might be a bit light compared to the DGs I've been playing literally my entire life, and I am going to pick up an SM7 54 at a good price, for if I decide to go back to the Vokeys.

Just had my first ever wedge fitting and got to use my gamer balls for the fitting. The new Glide 3.0 Eye 2 58* was the best wedge I've ever hit (for my AoA and needs). I've never felt anything like it - tried the Glide 3.0 SS 58*, MD5 58/10S, TM Bigfoot 60*, and the Vokey SM7 58D and 58K. It felt like I was hitting foam balls with the Eye 2 because the turf interaction was so perfect.

It doesn't skip into the ball on slightly fat shots, it glides through the turf/sand (if you will). Also, the hydrophobic finish is an absolute game changer. You never have to dry your ball off, worry about dewy lies, or worry about it rain falling on the club face at address. Watch the TXG video and check the MGS wedge results on wet vs dry data - it's the new metric that matters most to me now that almost every company makes wedges in a variety of grinds that produce high spin with good contact.

I never use my LW for anything more than a 2/3 shot, so the grind was great for me. I'll admit it looks funky, and at first, I didn't even want to try it. But, since I was there and going through the process, I did and I'm so happy with it. So, don't judge a book by the cover! Seeing your best ball flights and ideal spin on a LM with your gamer ball will go a long way toward creating positive associations with a new shape at address.

Just this week I swapped out MD4's for MD5 JAWS. After 180+ rounds and a few practice sessions I was due for new wedges. I was very content with the MD4's and the performance between the 2 are pretty much a wash, at least nothing drastic. If anything I can flight the ball a little better (lower) with the 5's.

PS After playing and practicing with the new wedges for a week I can tell there's definitely more spin on the 20-40 yard shots as in stop within 6 inches of where they land and I havent been able to do that since gaming the Chikara V1 Proto's. These things flat out deliver and are the best wedges I've played since the original 588's were introduced many moons ago. And after 40 years of golf, that's saying something.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Swapped out an MD-PM 60°/10 U-grind for a slightly used MD4 58°/8 C-grind. Got to compare the two before the snows came in.

MD-PM good for close in and dropping darts, but had distance control sometimes even with half swing. Also, not good out of shaggy junk - SW more reliable. In actual play past summer, would sometimes go an entire round without hitting MD-PM.The MD4 more consistent on distance and spin, and can probably be used up to 3/4 swing. And, the C-grind with modest heel and toe relief easier to set for modest face manipulation. Got MD4 for $80 at a PGA sectional sale; had a few superficial scratches on the toe area, probably someone with OTT problem.

I don’t think there’s a bad wedge out there right now. Just find something you like the look of, and then get fit off grass. I like my Glides.

Looking to buy new wedges for the season 2020. I’ve enjoyed my Titleist SM6:s, but are now

looking for a 4 wedge setup instead of 3. It’s great to read some of your comments and

thoughts. Been playing Vokey’s since the original SM came out, like the look and the

versatility of grinds on offer, but now competition has really grown in this segment

and there’s no point using anything els than the best performer for me, no matter

what brand it is. Looking forward to get a proper fit, playing around with loft, grinds,

shafts and different brands. Using Trackman for shots greater than 60 yards using

my own Pro V1x (2019) balls, different turfs and sand, all outdoor . I believe that’s the

best way to get around it! :-)

I've been playing around with the Hi Toes, and found I couldn't hit them. I was fooling around at Roger Dunn and hit the PM Grind on a whim. I didn't like how they looked at first, but I found that I couldn't mishit them unless I put a disastrous swing on them. I picked up a 54 and 58 degree, and they have been amazing!

New favorite is same as the old favorite -- SM7, which is the best wedge series every made, IMO. Will be testing the T-20 and the new SM8, but it's going to take something special to move these out of the bag.

SM7 D grind 58 is probably my favourite club in the bag. Just cheating out of bunkers, and you can still open the face and hit nippers off tight lies. amazingly versatile wedge

Of the ones I have tried I'd go with the RTX4 Raws, look great at address and have that heavy feel I'm used to from my Engages. However I am incredibly stubborn and still prefer the Engage, so I'll nominate Artisan. Haven't tried one, but I suspect if I wanted a new set of Engages that would be the best place to start.

Going with new Mack Daddy 4 wedges this season. S grind at 50, 54 and S and W grinds at 58 that I can switch out depending on the course. I always like buying last year’s new stock at deep discounts. These four wedges came real cheap. After trades, almost no cost. Like the shapes and feel.

The other wedge I really like — especially for preventing ‘bladed’ shots — is the Wishon HM wedge with the zero bounce heel paired with regular bounce in the middle of the sole. It’s a great wedge sole design for chipping.

I have a large soft spot for my PM 60-10 that have used heavily for 2 years inside 60y just about anywhere.

Xmas gifted me some lightly used Miura wedges and so far I am pretty blown away with.

Not so much with the grinds (which are fine, K, Y and a C) but the feel. I have not hit a forged wedge in a long time and these suckers when middled have wowed me: my other cast wedges can't replicate that feel.

K grind is nice from sand but that's where my PM has my confidence still....will be an interesting year to see if the K can kick PM out of the bag.

I just went with SM7 54 and 58 M grinds after a short stint w/ RTX4's that I didn't care for.

Played MD4s before the RTX4 and RTX3 before the Callys.

I liked the RTX3 perfomance but not the feel as much as the MD4, which also performed well.

The RTX4 I just couldn't get used to the S400 shaft, especially in the 58*.

Saw the SM7 discounted and liked the M grind heel relief over the Cleveland grinds....

So far very happy with the Vokeys and they're not going anywhere.

May sound taboo but I’m trying the pxg 0211 set wedges G,S,L. I’ve had glide 3.0 and t20 and although they are great, having the same shafts and heads as the rest of the set is a nice consistency. Feel and sound. And since progressive they are a great shape. We will see how long it lasts but I am enjoying them.

If you like MD series wedges (I have about a month left in my second set of MD3’s) the T20’s are basically the perfect MD style wedge. Callaway made a mistake not offering the S400 standard as the Jaws is way too soft in the shaft with the S200 wedge flex. Despite my praise for the T20’s, I will admittedly be getting RTX4’s, but the T20’s were a close second. My only knock on them would be they are almost too soft, if that’s possible, that I want to go at them harder because I feel like I need to even though I really don’t. The RTX4’s were more compact, soft off the face but not butter soft, and more consistent and precise versus all other wedge offerings. I do wish they had the hydro pearl finish Ping offers, but I assume all manufacturer’s will have that in their wedges next year.
