Obviously not solid copper. Normal 1020 steel MP 20 minus the chrome layer.

Haha of course my quote is being used against me. Being that the chrome and nickel outer layers add weight we went a bit thicker with this layer so the copper should last longer and the head weight will be correct. It’s a raw copper plating on top of our mild carbon steel. They’re gonna be so sweet!

I think that’s the point. Copper all over with a raw face once worn. Would look great in my opinion

This is correct. They're probably not meant to be played because the copper would literally be gone on the first shot. If you want a set that badly just have someone refinish them with copper plating. It's hard to get copper plating to stick to steel so they'll most likely need to put a flash of nickel under it but it would be a lot cheaper than dropping that much coin on a collector set.

The refinish would be really easy for someone who knew what they were doing too. You can strip chrome with household chemicals which would leave the nickel alone then you could just plate copper on top of the nickel. The weight loss would be almost zero and you wouldn't have to mess with buffing or grinding them at all.

I have seen 10 year old sets of copper finished epons that have been played heavily and look great

Yes I have some sets of Epon in copper finish that have probably hit over 2000 shots without wearing through.
