Zinger is the worst.  I miss you Johnny.

You mean the NFL doesn't have 180lb middle linebackers?

I think these guys brains are fried, never seen anything like this before at US open. Maltby said as much.

Youll have the 2 longest hitters, both in their twenties, in final group tomorrow. This in the tournament where "play safe and keep it in the fairway" has been the norm. Anyone who thinks power and youth aren't taking over aren't getting it.

What they are doing is going to have an impact going forward how the game is played.

Well.  I just walked back inside to see that reed has blown up.  Guess there’s no choice but to pull for Bryson or a Louis O. Hail marry win.  Oh well.

This is a great US Open. Showcasing a new generation of talent on what along with Oakmont is the best US Open course possible. Wolff and Bryson will make for an intriguing match with Schauffele and Rory close behind. I would not be telling the truth if I didn’t think the lack of galleries has had an impact but you need to make the best of the conditions you are given and that’s what they are doing. Golf is in a good place.

I haven't found out exactly what he meant by that. Was he commenting on the design or condition?

Yeah. If you look at 16 (was it?) BD had it 347 and Reed was 320. That's two maybe three clubs difference. The longer the course, the bigger the advantage. Think of all the players that tried to do what he's done and their games have suffered (Spieth, Ko) and he's in the final group of the US Open the first year of the experiment. You can say what you want about his personality, but he is blazing a trail.

What happens if there's a tie, which I think is a real possibility. Still the antiquated 18 hole Monday playoff?

Well, I was actually rooting for Patrick Reed at the beginning of today's coverage (unusual for me).  After his back nine melt-down, I've switched to the Kid, Wolf.  But I have a feeling Sunday might bring someone else to the forefront (English, McIlroy, etc).  What a finish today!  Sorry, I just have a hard time rooting for Bryson.

Two of the younger crowd that I like.  Matt and Bryson.   Some people do not like Bryson mad scientist but he is different and stands out from the other guys.  He and Wolff are playing very well on a course that is really punishing great players.

No one else can raise their swing speed without a massive increase in dispersion except DeChambeau. His swing is unique and impressive, might be the future of golf.

Wolff's too. You never know maybe there's something to his move others will try to copy. Probably the two most unique swings on tour right now ....hmmmm

Club head speed is officially a thing...along with being a great putter.

Wolff can barely hit a fairway in regulation and shoots 65. BDC in deep rough on 17 and knocks it to a few feet for birdie.

If you're a young kid and aren't flying it 300+ in high school you will be at a serious disadvantage if you ever want to be a pro.

Not sure what courses like Winged Foot can do other than deeper bunkers and more/taller trees.

I'm not part of the 'BDC is a genius' camp, but he's figured something out (he was always a very good player). Wolff just happens to be long without the bulk, but both are fast and long.
