Good point. But unless the guy has heaps of money to burn, I don’t think that he went through that many. $50/dz ain’t cheap

Right. But those aren’t all new looking balls. You can get them at my play it again sports in a barrel for $14 for 50.  They’re water balls but still.   Personal vendettas aren’t cheap.

but anyway , Killing titleist or their market share on balls would simply mean that the last domestic  ball company is dead.  Yes I know that half of them are made in Thailand. And yes I know that TM has a plant local to me in SC. But.... if titleist goes , the dominoes fall and quality will suffer for all in years to come. Remove the impetus for growth ( the leader ) and growing stops .  Remember.  Callaway only built a new process and ball because they were found to be too bad to continue selling balls with a straight face.  Would that have been found out minus stout competition? Don’t know. But I doubt it. Now  they want to point fingers ?  Makes me laugh really.

There -is- a certain irony to Callaway's marketing.  😉

Exactly.  And all this is going to do is encourage someone to find some non-centered balls from Cally's new manufacturing process - and they will - and then what?

Yes, manufacturing and throwing rocks at others seems foolish if you live in a glass house.

Didn't watch, but more likely scenario is cease and desist than hit and run.  Why bother if you weren't going to run with it.

I been playing ProV1 for many years, and added "new" AVX to the mix.  It's NOT the balls fault when someone misses the fairway or green.  It's ALWAYS the GOLFERS fault.

Last week I hit every fairway and a few long drives, missed a few greens and walked off with 75.  Callaway wants so badly to best Titleist, THEY should know better.  That goofiness only works with people that lack something or another. LOL

Does Cally have a domestic ball factory?   I read a good article that the three domestic plants all do premium balls.  They are Titleist, Bridgestone and TaylorMade.    I thought TM was owned by Adidas which is a German company owned by a French conglomerate.   Or was TM bought by a USA based private equity firm.

The Titlesit factory people in Mass have been working their for decades and family members go to work there.  The article made it out that Titleist decades of experience in the workers and technology meant their balls were the best balanced.   Maybe not???

Yes in Chicopee, MA. Former Top Flite plant. It's where they make the Chrome Soft balls and previous tour level balls.

Honestly, I don't know. We'd have to talk to the guy in marketing who thought it was a good idea.
