Get what is functional for you, forget branding. I personally don't like the branding that is going on, not just in golf. Jones had a sale a while back so I picked up one of their bags and took advantage of the embroidery. I like messing with folks and keep them wondering with the name........... most folks don't get

Ola WRX folks!

Looking for a new golf bag for 2021. Currently use a Sun Mountain hybrido, and interested in replacing it with the Ping Hoofer Craz-E-Lite.

My mental problem is ... I carry Callaway woods, TM hybrid, Titleist irons & wedges, NC putter.

Am I crazy (no pun intended) to think that my bag should match at least one of my clubs?

How did you pick your current bag?

Haha...I have the same mental block. Looking for a new stand bag this year and leaning towards the Titleist hybrid once released.  I play lots of Titleist clubs at the moment but change up (too often) so who knows what I will have in season or two.  The good thing about the Titleist bag though is it is unlikely I will ever abandon vokey wedges or a ProV1!!

You're fine as long as you have a Titleist ball in your bag.  You don't have to play it. Just carry it around in case anyone calls you on it.

I played with a guy that had best of class in his bag.  He's probably a member here.  MP53 irons, M2 woods, SC putter, Prov1, and a Hoofer.  He looked like a baller.

Answer to OP - maybe a touch crazy - but that's a good thing. 😆

My rule of thumb - bag should match either woods or irons.  Not since taking up the game have I ever had a Heinz 57 bag.  I so happen to play Titleist TS2 woods, 620 irons and Vokey wedges, SC putter, and covered with a Titleist bag.  Bottom line, should any of these choices matter to anyone else, NOPE.

I currently have Cleveland, Ping, Adams, Nike, Cobra, and Callaway clubs in my Sun Mountain bag.  When it's time for a new one I'll probably go with  Ogio, BagBoy or Sun Mountain.  I'd hate to show favoritism to any club manufacturer as I feel my other clubs might feel shunned or jealous and not perform as well...😜

I think generally the way the OP does about this. Having a Sun Mountain H2No bag has eliminated this crisis. However, my SM bag crapped out, and I don't like the looks of the '21 H2No bags. So, I've opted for a Titleist StaDry bag, but have it coming without the Titleist logos (by ordering it through my pro shop with the club's logo on it, I could delete the Titleist logos).

Maybe most other manufacturers' bags can be ordered with no logos, too. Not sure, but worth looking into.

I did this on accident.

Had a Hoofer, but zero Ping clubs.  Taylormade, Nike, Mizuno, Cleveland, all kinds of stuff in that bag.

Then I switched irons, which was no big deal you can't really tell what brand irons are unless you're up close.  But they could be Ping, which could be an issue later on.

Got a Ping putter, didn't like it, so I went back to my Spider but had lost the cover somewhere along the way.  Up to two Ping logos.

Decided to ditch the Driver for the G425 after a fitting.  Up to 3.

My hybrids were ancient, so I got fit for new ones.  Ended up with...  G425.  5 logos.

Loved the driver and hybrids so much I had to refresh my 3 wood, so I did another fitting....  6 logos.

When I took delivery of all those G425s, they'd thrown in a hat and towel.  I think that's where I'm drawing the line, but on the other hand- in for a penny in for a pound, right?

I've got a metric s*** ton of headcovers though, so I might just throw some Nike on there and call it a day

I kinda feel the same way that the bag should match one of your clubs. I have a Titleist mid staff bag but I was carrying Cobra Driver, Taylor Made 3W, Cleveland hybrid, Ping irons, Vokey wedges, and SC Newport 2. The entire time I had this set up, I really wanted to get new clubs to match but I wasn't playing enough to justify the cost of new clubs.

Fast forward to today. Since COVID I've been playing more so I got a new setup: Titleist TSi2, Cobra SZ 3W, Ping G410 3H, Titleist T300/T200 irons, Vokey wedges, SC Newport 2.5. More Titleist to match the same bag. But since I still have a mix of brands, I will be getting the Vessel Players 3.0 bag. To me this matches my mix of brands since Vessel just makes bags.
