You don't know the lofts of these irons do you? Will it require bending to blend?

I was originally thinking of going 5-PW in 221 and 4 Fli hi if they make a 4 or some hybrid but maybe I can do 4-6 in 223/225 and 7-PW in 221

The new hmbs are a degree stronger than the previous. The other two are the same. So maybe bend one degree weak. Or just leave it. I do think it will create that big of a gap personally.

hitting them they feel awesome.

Thats a toss up for me exactly actually.

I realized even as a 1-cap this season that 4-6 is where I have a 1/2 club miss here or there.
I typically hit 12-14 greens a round but after looking at where I need the biggest improvement is from 190-230 range on long par 3’s and 2nd shots on par 5’s.

I think I may go 4-6 223 and 7-PW 221, the 223 simply because aesthetics😎

Ok dumb question. Do you know what the default grip they're using?

Hoping if I place my custom order and use the default grip my order won't get delayed much😁

I don’t . I tried them with fitting shaft tour velvets. Typically though Mizuno has pretty good options.

They have trimmed down the HMB. Cleanup the lines and improved the feel. I like the idea of more forgiving 4-7 and blade 8-pw. Maybe throw the 223 in at the 6-7 iron spot for a triple combo..

Would it be a crime to go 225 in 4-8i, and then 221 in 9-PW. Haven't been satisfied with the 9-PW in HMB for some reason - maybe a lack of pop. And thinking a blade in the shortest irons would offer more pop than the hollow iron. Don't know, just daydreaming.

How did you get along with them?

Anything major in terms of aesthetics compared to the 18’s or 20’s?

Overall straighter lines and a more compact look. The HMB is for sure smaller I think the others just look smaller. Super solid. What you would expect from a mizzy iron..

All the specs are on the Japan site.

The 223 has less offset than the JPX 921 Tour...

The lofts are very strange though. No idea why they went with the gaps they did.

5-PW is 25, 28, 32, 36, 41, 46

Would love to have seen 26, 30, 34, 38, 42, 46

Do you have the link?

Looks are all about opinion but man, as a Mizuno loyalist these are the worst looking irons they’ve made in a long time. I do like the script writing but that 223 and 225 are horrendous.

I could see someone not liking the insert in the 223 but anyone not liking the looks of the 225 is a real head scratcher.

I think all 3 models look amazing.

Like i said it’s all relative to what you like. I personally hate the thick body that the 225 has. I currently have the 20 hmb in the 3-4 snd it’s possibly one of the worst irons I’ve ever put in my bag and I’d never put another one in my bag. Possible that my experience with the big thick hollow body makes me not like the look anymore. Def not sure what they were thinking with the 223.

I couldn't get along with the MP20 HMB.  I considered it for the top end of my bag, but preferred the MP20 mb in the end.  I do debate swapping out the 4 iron for something more versatile.  The MB 4 iron is a bear for me out of the rough.

Not trying to be argumentative, I just see the 221 and the 225 and figure you can have whatever you want. Want small & thin, fine. Want the same look just a bit bigger & thicker, Mizuno has an option for that golfer too.

I'm a 4 handicap and like to look at a more forgiving shape behind the ball. I'm reading the comments about the 225 being smaller and thinner and starting to worry it's going to be too small/thin for my liking. I can't wait to get into the store to see how the size/shape compares to something like the 921 forged. I've been playing Ping G and I series irons for a long time so I'm use to chucky cavity backs in my bag but I really love how the HMB/225 look in the bag (and at address). I just hope Mizuno hasn't sacrificed forgiveness with the new 225 model.

Your different opinion def doesn’t offend me. Like i said, most of what’s discussed is a matter of opinion. I game the Mp20 mbs in the 5-P. The hmb just looks horrible and feels horrible. I’m just not a Hollow Body guy snd the chunkyness is so unappealing. All that being said the 223/221 is the only thing I’d game personally and i just have no idea what they were thinking with that 223. Yikes. Maybe at address it looks real clean which IMO is really all that should matter.
