The bottom muscle looks chunkier and the grooved piece under the word forged is new. Those are the only noticable differences though.

It really looks like Ping's anser to PXG's iron offerings, however, I have read a lot about quality control (welds) issues.

 

I am really looking forward to the i210 replacement. Will it be the i225?

 

When people compare and contrast the i21o vs the i500, what are the main differences?

I am curious about the i500 hollow body technology, but the time testing Ping cavity backed design of the i210 is hard to ignore.

I am less concerned with increased distance, care more about feel and forgiveness.

500 was generally a big success. There were some initial weld issues, but those were very small. You'd be surprised how things seem bigger here.

 

210 and 500 are different because the 500 is a distance iron. It's hollow, of course. 210 is an all-rounder, and not distance oriented and not short, either. If you want forgiveness, pick up a 210 while you still can.

Successful for me...been playing since release date, 300+ rounds.  Very consistent and really worked for me. I hit the center of the face alot, don't care for bounce and have a negative angle of attack.  These do require a pretty good strike. 

 

Actually never got along with i210, chunky to me, alot of bounce. I see people that are pickers hit these much better than trench diggers like me.  

 

If this version is remotely better than original....I'll have a full set.  I59 are tempting but I'd need to power spec.   I don't want to give up the top of the bag created by I500, 3/4 iron for i500 are bombers...take out the need for most shots from any hybrid or shorter wood....but with green holding and apex height. 

 

Just add a 46/47 wedge...and good to go.   Add a scoring club, remove a liability club at the top.   

 

And no weld issues..ever.

These are very interesting, the i500 was the best fit for me at a club champion fitting but I was not going to pay their prices and frankly was not thinking PING at the time. Ended up going into a Miura very expensive phase that did not last more than 6-7 months then I went PXG for a while then back to Callaway. 

But I never forgot how well the i500 was for me.

i230 to match up with the G430 stuff coming late next year. I'd say we won't see anything on the i230s until at least late Summer 2021.

Coming from the i500's these look just like them. Not sure why any one would want to change if they perform the same. I understand someone moving from i500's to i59s, 210s, or blue prints but not this.

Because they are getting release when the G425 are the present model.
