Let's keep this respectful! I like the fact that he has such a tightknit group of followers! I love his work, if they offered me a putter right now I'd buy it!

From my experience, that couldn't be further from the truth. I was paired with Tyson at a meetup, he's a very humble, down to earth guy that made me feel as if I'd known him for years even though I'd never met a single person that was there before. And then on his own dime, he made these beautiful headcovers for the event and gave one to everybody that showed up. Which was totally unexpected and pretty generous if you ask me.

I havnt been on these forums much over the last 2 years. Nice to see the sentiment here hasn't changed. Sounds like he hasn't made many more putters or friends since I've been gone.

I only know one person in my golfing club that has one of his putters. It looks good though but if I recall they are friends.

I'm now catching up on some of the drama surrounding Lamb and his putters that exists in other places on the internet (I stumbled across it, wasn't seeking).  Nice putters, but no further comment.

I was lucky to buy one used off the BST group on Facebook.  Unfortunately, it had the original owners initials stamped on the toe but I worked with Tana and Tyson to have the work done.  It took almost a year for him to finish but was worth the wait (no thanks to covid, plus having a child and moving to a new shop was probably keeping Tyson plenty busy).  I met a lot of the Lamb guys when I was down in Bandon Dunes last year and have kept in touch with a few of the ones on the West Coast.  Enough talking, here's a pic.

Seems to be the same guys that come in every one of the Lamb threads and complain. Ya'll are worse than some women with the grudges you've held over people who you've never met and never actually did anything to you lol.

 

So what he makes a bunch of ball markers and tools that make more money with less time spent.

Like it or not, Tyson Lamb has a business model and he’s following it.  Maybe it is because of the scarcity and difficulty of ordering one that allows these putters to command the prices he charges.  It also appears that there are many people that really want one but cannot because of the business model.  Can’t really blame Tyson Lamb for running his business as he wants.  If Lamb flooded the market I doubt he could command the prices he does.  He doesn’t have the tour pedigree that another putter designer who charges four to five figures does.

Didn't realize a business model included entitlement, play kiddie games and charge outlandish prices.  Guessing he comes from $$$$, so he doesn't really need the money and treats his putter business more like a hobby.  Someone feel free to tell me if I'm incorrect.

I don’t know him. I don’t own any of his stuff. I’m indifferent of his work. But boy, he did not deserve all these. 
 

We should encourage entrepreneurship even though we may disagree with their business model.

Yawn. He’s yesterday’s news, Olson and others seem equally skilled and far more approachable. The boutique putter market is saturated, and nobody is gonna be the “next Scotty”. That market share is already occupied, time to move on.

You apparently haven't been following Olson lately and seen the feedback on him lol. Seems he may have bitten off more than he can chew and gives zero f's about CS.

 

TL on the other hand, the very few complaints I've seen were handled incredibly quick and with complete satisfaction from the customer. Never seen someone not happy with their putter purchase either. Weird how what people who don't buy anything from him think and what actually happen are two completely different things.

 

TL made some mistakes when he was first coming up, big deal. People change, get over it you crotchety old kooks lol.

Haha. I feel like I haven't been on here for years and it's still the same story. I would rather buy a putter from someone who likes to make putters. But if you are still keeping your fingers crossed and hoping "this is the year," best of luck to you. The putters I have seen on instagram in the past (if he made them) are absolutely beautiful. But they have been promising more putters for literally years and it never comes to fruition. My attention span just isn't that long.

Easy to handle the complaints when you make 10 putters/ year and they are all for your friends...or friends of friends. 

 

He doesn't care about these threads anymore either, barely any of his friends coming on to defend him anymore.

I'd roll one for sure... My only historical complaint is that he basically steals the art he uses to compliment what are some really nice putters.

Whatever you do, don’t order a custom Olson. Unless of course you want to wait 6 months and get nothing you asked for. 😂 I would much rather have a lamb then an Olson.
