Would love to see a factual source based off your opinion.

Overall sales it’s no question Titleist and Callaway typically battle for the top spot but in driver and metal wood sales Taylormade is king in the retail market. Ask any golf shop it’s not close.

I can't give you a firm % of market share, and fly spec is an overstatement, BUT having worked in the industry and having seen the golf datatech marketshare reports for years, they're not as major a player compared to TM.  Titleist makes their money on golf balls.  Plain and simple.  Golf balls keep the lights on there, period.  TM and Callaway always wrestle for the top spot in the woods category, followed by very distant competitors in Ping and Titleist. TSi may be a great product that has given them market share gains recently but not enough to take on the giants. Having been out of the space for a few years now, my guess is that they're still less than half (or even smaller) the market share of a TM or Callaway.

Oh definitely didn't think they were fighting for top spot but, fly spec is a ridiculous statement.

Neat, just shows that Taylormade has 35% in driver shares. didn't say anything else regarding driver shares comparing other brands

They are first at 35% callaway is second at 22%. That article didn’t list anyone else but basically it’s not close

For the record I’ve hit Cobra drivers for 7 years so it’s not a fanboy statement it’s just fact. Also as an 18 year club pro I saw the discrepancy on my own books every year. I’m not paying for a market report to show Titleist at 16%

Well there you have it 35% to 22% down to 16% is far from a fly spec..... 🪰

Titleist never had a stand out driver but the tsi was in alot of free agent bags at the beginning of the year that's for sure.

I agree.  The TSi3 is a fantastically shaped driver, just wish there was a non gloss option.

There’s a lot of low and mid handicappers out there if not the majority who have had a black gloss driver for almost 20 years with either a silver face or a black face.

That's me, lol.

The mixture of gloss black, and a matte gray of brown tint on the crown is simply hideous. Gawdy even. I like the red face. But TM needs to hire "**** Eye" consultant, and man up on their sense of taste.

Absolutely! Ping gives you the satin black, but then adds “turbulators”! Haha

Can’t win! 😆

For me, Ping drivers have been more accurate but TM drivers always seem to have a little more juice.  This has been the case for me at least.

I guess I don't see this.  I sometimes wonder if Trackman reads TM drivers different. I consistently see 1.49-1.5+ smash with Titleist drivers and Ping is right there. With TM I am always 1.45-1.48 but the total ball speed is similar with the Titleist and swing speed is 1-2 mph higher. Don't want to derail the thread, but has anyone else seen this?

I admit I am not a fan of the red face but as long as the Stealth protects the toe miss with twist face then it is checking 9 out of 10 boxes and I will game it.

100% agree.  I can hit the Ping G425 with my eyes closed, but not the longest.  TM is more demanding to hit on the screws, but definitely longer.

Don't stress about that. This thread took a hard right after pictures leaked

I tried the m5 to see if I was missing out. it was 5-7 yards longer, but it was rare to find a fairway. Definitely going to try out the stealth since I messed around with the c4 back in the day. See what the hype is about.

Is it safe to assume you never played the G400?  One of the best sounding drivers of all time by popular opinion.

I think the 35% market share says their taste is just fine

What amazes me is all these big hitters on here claim their drivers are 5-10 yds longer than the latest Ping drivers. Since Ping drivers deliver more fairways I'd say they are just as long and probably longer overall.

Just a pure ball speed comparison. My friend gained 6mph ball speed between his 425lst and my SIM. I moved to the sim after playing the ping for a couple months. I didn’t want to give up the distance. Don’t have to be a big hitter to not want to sacrifice speed.

It’s cool the face is red. Imagine first tee at Augusta, birds chirping, dew rising, Tiger teeing it up with the iconic red face. Notorious snap hook into the other fairway. Patented high cut over the trees to make par. These things will sell like any other TM driver. Since the sim, everyone has always said they are ugly in the pre-release. They start to look a lot better when you see Tiger, DJ, and Rory smashing them in the marketing videos.

OAN, playing some mens softball I learned that composite bats take awhile to break in before they reach their peak. I wonder if these things will get hotter through time. I can’t hit a driver anyways so I don’t have any skin in the game. #2WoodGang

Totally understandable.  My SS is 95+ I hit a G400 with a custom shaft (for me) I constantly hit the other brands driver heads for comparision.

My son's SS is 105+ played Titleist drivers for years, finally got him to extensively demo the competition. He now hits the G400 Max, he's scratch and doesn't miss many fairwaya. Point is its a MYTH that Ping drivers are just shorter than the competition overall. YMMV obviously.
