Anyone Have An Idea of What TM’s Driver Plans Are for 2022?

"The USGA listing also notes the drivers employ a 12-way adjustable hosel. It is listed in 8, 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees (9 and 10.5 in left-handed) for the Stealth and 8, 9 and 10.5 degrees (9 and 10.5) in the Stealth Plus+."

Does this mean that the Taylormade driver adapter stays the same or difference?

Since COR is limited to 0.83, is the only improvement now for new drivers is limiting speed loss for off-center hits for different drivers? Is there any data for off-center hits. For example, 1 inch toward the toe by a mechanical swinging robot?

Bryson's putting style is pretty close to that. Mighy be worth a try.

My guess is Charlie & Tiger will both have it in play, probably the reason it his the USGA list so early.

Yes, but COR/CT has been limited for over a decade so the majority of what manufacturers work on is Marketing and a good story to tell and aesthetics. Yes, we see incremental improvements in ball speeds on off center hits and certainly the ability to fine tune launch angles and such can make a difference, but your assertion is correct. Which is why some tour players who get stuff for free, still play drivers that are several years old...but obviously have the latest headcover on for show.

I have tried both the Sim and Sim2 drivers but ball trajectories were too high and no gain in distance. I went back to my M5 because I can move the weights toward the front to keep ball trajectory down.

I lost no money in trying these clubs. Basically I bought them used on Offerup and then sell them back a few weeks later for the same price.

New drivers on the USGA conforming list,

As stated above, Stealth and Steath +

Carbonwood printed  on driver face,

Should be interesting as to what new tech

this may have.

The closer we get to order date the more I’m excited to try this driver. No matter which brand you prefer, for me it’s been mostly Cobra for the past 7 years, but I think it’s pretty safe to say Taylormade has been the king of drivers for a very long time. I highly doubt they would risk their position and market share on a driver that doesn’t flat out perform in all categories and is a true shift in technology.  If they weren’t absolutely sure this could rival or beat every driver on the market it wouldn’t be released.

Dear 8 pound, 6 ounces, newborn infant Taylormade Jesus, don't even know a word yet... Please make the face color customizable through MyStealth online.  If you do this for me, I will never take your name in vain again after a drive.  Amen.

It’s been reported a few times that the face color is indeed customizable. God bless you wherever you are. 😊

Honestly that's a pretty cheap looking driver. It's like someone took flat black rattle can to cover up the carbon fiber weave and did a piss poor job. Should've gone with a matte black edge rather than gloss black. If I slapped a Tommy Armour logo on this thing nobody would question that it wasn't a cheap Tommy Armour head.

I'd have to agree, it just doesn't look that well finished. We'll have to wait and see when this hits retail for final judgement.

I've never been a huge TM or Callaway fan (the marketing has gotten to me, but I live with it when I get better results during fittings), but I find the fit and finish much better with the last Epic line of woods vs. the SIM stuff.

Please refer to the USGA & R&A approved driver list. Odd the Stealth pus has MWT restored after TM stating it was unnecessary in the SIM 2.

I believe they said that it was "going away for now" or something similar, not really that it was "unnecessary".

I think we can all agree that drivers have gotten better/faster/more forgiving since those COR/CT limits were maxed out, so it is not really relevant to use that as the sole measure of what is and isn't possible.

COR/CT is one component of a puzzle that has many pieces. Yes it is/has been maxed out in the center of the face, and yes one of the last remaining frontiers is maximizing it elsewhere while keeping the face strong enough to withstand normal use, but there is also the very large second/third piece of the puzzle which involves maximizing MOI while maintaining CG near the neutral axis of the head. This has been a target lots of companies have been dancing around for awhile now (see @joostin's thread about CG and MOI) and is an area we'll likely see "breached" with the next few releases which will result in some gains.

Regarding your M5 and weight placement, if moving the weights forward actually lowers trajectory for you in a way that you need, then that is just a component of dynamic loft. More weight forward = less lead deflection which = lower dynamic loft and this lower flight. You could recreate exactly the same thing with a lower lofted head in something like the SIM or any other driver that otherwise launched too high for you. Cramming weight forwards is one solution as you've found, but it also makes the head much less stable. You can have the stability AND the lower launch by simply lowering head loft.

Can anyone confirm for certain that the Stealth Plus would be considered the direct replacement for the SIM, and the Stealth will replace SIM Max?

Very disappointed to see that the "60X CARBON" and "TWIST FACE" text appears to actually be painted on the face like the pics we've seen. I was REALLY hoping that was a sticker. Why couldn't they just paint that subtly in black in the corner of the face similar to current models? Does it really need to be there, in stark white, in the middle of the face? Man that's just dumb...
