I know everyone is having fun complaining about the face color. Driver looks great in person. At address I never noticed the face color what so ever. I liked the low gloss black finish. The gloss black frame i also liked. The driver feels great and the ball has that exploding off the face feel. High launch and REALLY low spin with the Tour version. Even at 9° I was getting 17° of launch which for me is a ton. I easily matched and beat.. performance of my Epic Max Ls and the TM shaft wasn't fit well to me. 

The Stealth driver is going to perform well enough you won't care what color it is.

I can imagine them bring it back in some form or another at some point. They split out to the full size 460 drivers and the smaller mini drivers and I can see them introducing something in the middle since this new face tech could be saving enough weight to allow a really forgiving, higher MOI design in the smaller package. I mean PING was able to do it in the G400 line so I don't see why TM couldn't. All their previous smaller headed designs were pretty low MOI right in the middle of the trend moving the other direction so they never really gained steam for similar reasons as the Nike Vapor drivers IMO (aesthetics aside). We'll see though, i'd love to see it.

I wonder how consistent the carbon face will be from club to club? With titanium, it can be cast or forged and then milled to spec at a pretty high tolerance.
 

On another golf site, one of the higher ups commented TM will not use metal in a driver face ever again. Seems like a pretty brazen statement which I assume was originally made by someone at TM.
 

Such an interesting time were are embarking on. I’m interested to see where this all leads to.

This statement is akin to guys who said the driver was all carbon.

 

No one can claim the paint chipping problem to be over until guys have the new putters in the bag for several months.

Had you bothered to read even 1 page, you'd have realized that many have hit/seen the driver. But I assume it's substantially more comfortable to thaw in mediocrity and spew your biases than doing the work and becoming knowledgeable. 🤦‍♂️

Easy now, it's just an ugly driver. Several people have said they hit the driver, I was commenting on our collective lunacy on unreleased driver. And yes, I just skimmed the 63 pages, after all I have a life.  So, chill, this is 1st world nonsense, not a life issue. except, maybe for you ?

I'm hearing through the grapevine that not just one but multiple guys on tour are seeing a consistent 2-4 mph increase in ball speed.  I think it might just be marketing hype but if true, then I'm game.  My cousin isn't thrilled with the OG SIM he's had since it came out couple years and back and is snatching one up upon it's release.  I will have to test and see for myself what all the hype is about.

for me, its a whole lot of NOTHING......drivers are maxed out for distance so the only way to keep selling $600 driverss is to market it to a bunch of golf apes (me included) that go nuts for perceived distances and a "better" product.......its all marketing......

I’ve mentioned several times in this thread my feelings and experience with the last decade of drivers. They are better today in all aspects. Yes changes are very incremental but they have constantly improved year over year. I’m truly shocked how easy it is to drive the golf ball today. Accuracy, distance, performance on mis hits, it’s unreal. If you’re not a better driver of the ball today than you were ten years ago you are not taking advantage of technology. Barring injury of course. 😂

Didn't read any of these responses, but I'm sure it will have the following stated. Five yards longer than any driver to date, more forgiveness on off center hits. Lower spin, or if you need it, more spin. New twist face design that will auto correct terrible strikes. Sell your Sim2 and buy our new driver, guaranteed to reduce strokes ("not actually guaranteed").

I change my driver 2-3 times per year even when things are going well, why the heck is he still playing the OG Sim if he's not happy with it lol?
