I would 💯 use tape with the Stealth face.

First thing that came to mind was the baseball bat the Combat C4. When it came out I was a scrawny 11 year old who rarely hit any home runs. After I got that C4 I was a power hitter haha. Think I had 20+ home runs that summer. I realize golf is a little different with regulations and also the money in the game of the manufacturers, but the release of the composite baseball bat was truly groundbreaking. The improved performance over aluminum was significant. They actually has to change the rules about 3 years or so after they were released because there were too many home runs and kids were getting injured.

I don't get it either. You have to pick it up anyway, just wipe it off at the same time.

Range balls are wet, even if you pick one right out of the basket. What good is it hitting a wet/sandy ball? Wet ball equals big curves...

Just saw a video of a guy hitting it on Twitter. Definitely a unique sound, softer and more muted than the SIM or SIM2.

Everything new is scary until enough of a track record exists for most people. Carbon fiber should be an improvement in the durability department across the board, but people need to see it to believe it.

The pro at our club has hit it on our simulator.  He is generally not a gear geek or easily impressed, but he liked it it.  He thought the sound, to his ear, was better than the SIM series.  They are sending him the head next week.  I hope to steal it from him, plop it on my existing shaft and take a few cuts on the simulator.  It has been a while since I updated that end of my bag.

I'm lucky to know a retailer well enough that I can usually take a replacement off their shelf and they just replace stock when TM sends the replacement. Not everyone has that retailer relationship...

If Tiger plays the Stealth driver and Kuchar continually out drives him, given Tigers current health and his distance issues in his recovery, is that beneficial for TM and the Stealth? Maybe since Kuchar is currently back to his red Bridgestone J815 driver people might think it's the TM Stealth LOL!

This is a valid point, but given the unpredictable nature of Tiger's 2022 tour schedule, I think TaylorMade would take its chances. Every golfer will at least want to try if not buy the new Stealth driver if they see that the GOAT put it in the bag.

Very good counterpoint. My next question would be is how many golfers changed to the SIM driver line only because Tiger was gaming it? I know it's a question without a quantifiable answer.

Does anybody truly believe Tiger or TM care about how far Tiger hits a Stealth driver or any driver for that matter during this weekend's tourney?  I'm willing to bet Tiger and TM are way more invested in the human side of Tiger's return than the equipment side on this one.

Yeah and i also bet it still goes a decent way...maybe even near or past where i can get it. 240-260+ on average give or take a bit. Thats pretty good on a shattered leg for tiger until he can get it back more stable. I honestly can say i hope he wins another tourney and major... if any sport you can do it its golf. Pretty sure i witnessed a 80 year old birdie a hole in real life who wasnt exactly fluid and smashing the ball. I think tigers setting us up to think he will fail but will actually prevail... i rhymed.

Seeing a half healthy TW using this model would garner more PR than the rest of TM staff combined. Plus if he is hitting it a gentle 250 it will appeal to us mortals.

Watching his practice swings the past few weeks….it won’t be 250.  He still has plenty of speed and strength. The 3 woods he was swinging in the video I watched had to be flying 260 plus.

If thats true, he didnt lose any speed… he was only about 113 driver chs before.

I’m just saying from personal experience don’t be surprised if he doesn’t lose very much speed. His upper body and core are so strong that quieter legs will only add to his control once he gets adjusted to it. There is a thousand ways to do it, he will find his speed
