But this is the double-edged sword…everyone’s going to know the red-faced driver is the big new $700 thing, and you’re gonna have all the rich newbies all buying it and slicing it into the woods each time with it…

As such, if you buy one, each time you get up on the tee, particularly if you’re with strangers, everyone gonna be looking at you to prove you’re not a poser and hit a bomb…extra pressure will always be on

If you want the new thing, get the new thing. if you don't want the new thing, don't get the new thing. Worrying about your image to people whose names you don't know and won't remember is a waste of time and energy.

Yikes. It'd never occur to me that people burden themselves with these concerns. I'd say probably close to 90% of people that I get paired with have no clue whatsoever about golf equipment so this scenario doesn't sound highly plausible either.

$700?  With the Ventus Black it will be at least $850!!

Buds will be so jealous you have it and they don't....the new hottest driver on the market/tour...don't matter where you hit the ball.........

for whatever reason I really dislike the color red lol my favorite color is blue so the sim line up was always appealing to me. I don't care too much for the look of this one (looks like a repainted sim2) but I am very curious to see what the face is about. I don't NEED a new driver so if this thing drops at like $600-$700 I won't worry about it for a while lol

I don’t know if it has been mentioned but it has stealth written on the heel side on the crown. It is almost not noticeable

You don’t think the crown is actually a more glossy black but a sticker is on it? The stealth looks barely noticeable

So a couple of things about this driver...

 

1. It is NOT an all carbon head. Folks have reported that but it's pretty clear that it has a carbon face and a carbon crown. But there is metal (steel I assume) around the carbon face, around the perimeter, and some on the bottom.

 

2. The front weight on the "non-max" version is farther away from the face than the sim. Should have minimal impact...a tiny bit less gear affect than sim.
