Sei Young Kim is on their staff and Olivia Cowan got her LPGA card at Q-School late last year.

Does anyone know if Lin XiYu (Janet) has official links to Mizuno (subsequent to that 2020 kerfuffle)

 

edit: Looks like XiYu has been using Callaway clubs in 2021 (per Getty images)... pity, would’ve been a prominent ‘coup’ for Mizuno/ China golf market?

Let me be perfectly clear.  Women golfers, from the highest handicap senior player to LPGA pros, are disrespected every day.  It's a cultural thing most everywhere around the planet.  Always been that way and it likely always will be.  Mizuno nor any other OEM would have ever done that with any male touring pro.  IMO.

The women golf tours in the above 2 countries are far more popular with larger purses than the men's tours there.

 

Especially in S. Korea.....if there was a lot of disrespect to female golfers....they'd be losing a lot of opportunity in purchasing power....so many Korean women addicted to golf...then again the whole country is addicted to golf.

We have a ton of Korean golfers here....I see the addiction everyday....quite a few public courses here where the tee sheets are filled with Korean golfers.

Today is today...and it was long ago...but not to be forgotten....but there are still some scars due to times of war.

Koreans might feel the same way..... as Japan also occupied Korea in WWII.

 

You do have a point...if Nasa was in the same situation as Lin (no major OEM sponsorship at the time...though she used to be a Cally pro long ago)...I wonder if Mizuno would have turned a cold shoulder to Nasa.

 

I'm kinda thinking Mizuno would have behaved the same way for another LPGA mid range pro ....with no nationality bias.

 

But maybe rather than blame Mizuno....maybe we should blame the Mizuno rep that declined Lin.

IMG has always known of the PXG contract expiry and the probability of a renewal...and should had other sponsors lined up or as a minimum..... in discussion.

 

Lydia is teeing it up on Thursday....it will be odd and a bit of a disappointment if Lydia is vacant of a logo on the front of her hat and staff bag.

Titleist picked up Danielle, and Lydia's "big sister" So Yeon last season. I wouldn't be surprised to see her with a Titleist bag, but I think a Hana Bank bag is more likely.

Except for Titleist's premier male pro endorsements....Titleist doesn't typically shell out huge bucks....so that eliminates Titleist from Tina's short list....unless Tina's desperate nowadays.

 

I can't recall any LANDMARK Titleist endorsements of any LPGA pros.

 

It really is a guessing game what sticks Lydia will use.

It really shows that the OEM's are being more stringent who they will sponsor.....The Death Star knew long ago in 2021 the probability of a PXG renewal.

Not unusual as Cristie Kerr who was with PXG for several years left and continued to use PXG irons for a good while afterwards.

As of now she is an equipment free agent. She is using a Titleist T200 5 iron Proto Concept C05 6-9 irons and Vokey wedges this week. I am not sure what woods are in the bag
