JP McManus Pro Am: Tiger, Rory and world's best tee up (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS ***)

I hate to say this but Tiger’s gait looks worse than at the PGA.  And that is while mostly riding.  Could be just stiff from riding in what appears to be a somewhat cold and windy day but I was hoping for more improvement.

I thought his gait looks better actually but he's playing like a 10 HC at the moment. Looks rusty and disinterested.

He actually has me disinterested.  Boooooring.

I have a similar injury (shattered my left ankle ~5 years ago, 2 surgeries).

I still limp every morning if I do moderate activity on my feet the day before.

it is not a gradual recovery.

if you do intense activity, it will be very sore the next day.

If it’s cold, it’ll be sore.

it doesn’t mean it’s getting worse.

there’s just no consistent improvement or a disappearance in pain. It’s day to day. And he’ll probably be feeling it the rest of his life.

and just because he’s limping doesn’t mean his leg/ankle hasn’t gotten stronger. It definitely has. It’s just that it still hurts and always will.

I understand all of that…3 surgeries on my left ankle including a total ankle replacement.   Tigers gait looked worse to me.  A hitch in his step we used to say.

TW with a Ventus in the driver 👀

Tiger and I have a couple of things in common. Only my Ventus is a red. And my hobbling is from old age arthritis.

Kind of rankles with me that so many of the top players the Scottish Open are advertising as the main draw will be playing a pro-am on a completely different style of course for the start of the week.

How serious are these plyers taking the scottish open if they will be getting in only the day before the tournament.

While your cockles are in a rankle lets see where the JPMc pro's  finish..

I like their chances for the win.

Feel for Tiger, weather is terrible for the time of year - windy and fairly cold. Fair play to him for making the trip over. Anyone coming here to play golf and spending any time near Dublin - take a trip to Croke Park for some gaa football of hurling - great craic - make sure and hit the pub with the fans an hour before throw in.

JP must have some serious influence to get that field!

It’s a closely held secret that after the event is over, all the McManus and blood relative clans and their hundreds of descendants gather in the ancient woods, light a bonfire, and recite passages written on ancient runes.

They pass flagons of whiskey, reaching a fervor, and all begin to chant

McManus

McNanus!

MCMANUS!!!!

Their chorus echoing through the hills and out into the seas.

It’s really quite something to see. Only certain players get invited.

The weird thing in every event is that he's hitting a lot of fairways, but the rest of his game is very sloppy. Irons are missing the target more often than you would expect. Chipping & putting are not good enough as well. I think he just does not practice much at all these days because of the leg & back problems.

He has said when it becomes obvious he cannot play the game at the highest level, he will retire. I think we might be at that point. If he is not able to practice much due to physical limitations and he ends up with a rusty game every time he plays a tournament, the odds are heavily stacked against any real success for him. I would not mind if he retires at St. Andrews. It would be a good way to go out in front of some great fans.

so it wasn’t a limp? It was something else?

i guess this is useless without video

Something wrong with his gait=a hitch in his step=a bit of a limp

TW is looking really good in preparation for the British Open, he will compete and will contend. Could he shock the world and win the tournament? It wouldn't shock me. He has won before with a broken leg so a limp is basically nothing to him.

That chip for eagle was one of the shots of the year.
