Won't be a high volume inventory release, so likely won't be much of this stuff showing up on CPO. Lesser volume won't reduce prices as much.

The company is making no bones about the fact that the target demographic of this whole line isn't fussed by such things. If it suits them and they want it, the cost of entry is irrelevant to them. Same reason people buy Rolex watches and drive their AMG Merc to the club they play at with the six figure initiation fee. They do it because they can, and good for them.

My three jobs and I can't relate to that mindset either, but there it is.

Given the lightweight properties as well as the stock shafts, I'm going to say they probably are going to be quite draw-biased.  Exactly like the B21 and Star range was.

They don't look anything like a stereotypical draw driver, but that bias is definitely baked in.

chipped fiber is easier to mold into complex shapes, but isn’t as strong as fabric or long fibers (for the most part).

The woods being adjustable gives me hope for the next regular release. There’s no way these are intended to be a regular mass market product. Ultra expensive and very light.

We do heads only custom work from them.  We'll sell a decent amount of irons.  Woods and hybrids, maybe not so much.  It's going to be hard to outdo the Rogue ST.  They were shockingly good.  That's why I ultimately went with Cally.

 

I wonder if momma will let me get a second iron set...  LOL

How soon before you hit them? I play the X Forged Star irons now. They came with Modus 105S shafts so a bit lighter than standard, D1 or so. I am interested in these since I think they are an evolutionary step from the Forged Irons I play now. Similar lofts, maybe slightly bigger top line.

I'll ask today when we expect heads in the cart and we'll give them a look and a try.  Hopefully they're already on their way.  But from the pictures I've seen I'm not really seeing a massive top line.  With all the tungsten that they're claiming to put in there and the titanium head, you might not need it.  There's going to be so much weight low and back, it might be overkill.

Yep; I'll be getting the read-in from my boss later this week, but will have to sit on all that for a while.

Most curious to see what happens in the Apex Pro/X Forged space in the iron lineup. Will likely be my choice for '23.

Based on what I see with discontinuations, likely to be refresh of the base Odyssey line.
