500 for the lst because it’s titanium. Standard g430 fairways will not be that price

Still seems excessive 🙂

The Kaili with 10.5 lst head sounds like a winner. Still want to compare to new cobra head and cally head. Do they have the kaili blue, want to put in 3 wood?

I only hit the black and other stock shafts.  I tried the Tour 2.0 as well but the Kai'li beat that out as it optimised my launch conditions.  12-14 degrees launch, 2100 spin, and around 158mph b/speed.  Felt smooth too for a low/low shaft.

I was told  $580 (LST driver) and $550 (Max driver).  FW's are $500.

Gulp.

Having just read today that the new Callaway Paradym driver is going to be £599 here (Uk) it looks like the Ping G430 LST driver is going to £560-£580 when launched next week……

I think for the first time for a while I’m going to sit out the ‘23 releases and leave the hype/kool aid kids alone and will just find a 2022 driver that offers all the performance I need, but without a £600 price tag. Will probably sell my TSR 2 driver too…..should have never sold the Rogue ST LS that preceded it…..we live and learn! (Maybe 😄

anyone else not impressed with the looks of the 2023 new releases for all the major players (callaway, ping, taylormade)? sure performance might be better, but the looks are kinda meh. ping probably the best one since i like the green.

I can get pass looks if I am seeing solid dispersion and less penalty on mishits. Too many times have I chased a sexy driver that didn’t perform for me when the boring max driver could have been perfect.  Downside of being a club ho I guess!

I don’t mind the price on the LST 3 wood if it can be the one to stop that revolving door/slot in my bag.

Same here. That's the one spot I can't seem to settle for 2023 (or ever, really). I'd love to find a 3W that just stays in the bag for years and years no matter its cost. I have some gift cards/credits ... likely going to use them to try the G430 LST and the Stealth 2 Plus.

This thinking lead me to the G400 Max.  No regrets.

I stand corrected.  The LST fw's will be $500+.  The Max fw's will be  $350ish.  I am not in the market for fairway woods but have a mint Epic Max LS I'm still trying to sell.

My most consistent driving ever was with the G400. It was so good and totally underrated.

That’s because the Kai li was their expensive tour level option. There were some supply chain issues and they gave them as the stock option. Good hack last year if you knew about it.

I'm planning on putting a 3w back in the bag after many years without. Will def try G430 and Stealth 2, but the Cobra Aerojet could also be interesting.

The 3Deep has been challenged many times but is undefeated and is still in my bag.  I've got the stock Aldila Tour Green in mine.  Rahmbo is definitely onto something.  Great combo.

One round and one range session with the G430 Max 5 wood confirmed the fitting results.

It launches really easily from tight lies with less spin than the last few Ping fairway generations.

Started on hole one where I had 242 uphill and into the wind and stuck it to 20 feet for a 2-putt birdie. Used it another three times on tight dogleg tee shots and split the fairway each time. 4/4 good shots with that club and I was swinging terribly so that was a good sign.

Looks and performance are great, but I'm not 100% sold on the sound. It's like Ping got so tired of the criticism of their loud sound that they have gone to the other extreme. It's so muffled it's like someone hit a Taylormade wood under a blanket.

Did you game the G425 Max 5W prior to this?  If so, would you mind comparing the two?

I have the G425 Max 7 wood in the bag.

Loft for loft I would say G425 launches lower with more spin (the fitter said that appears to be the general trend so far) and the sound is night and day different.

G430 also feels lighter / easier to swing.

Thanks!  I currently play the G425 Max 5W (Ventus Red 7X) and really like the “heavier” feel but seriously considering the G430. 🤔
