Even though I don't play it, I'm going to have to say the Titleist Pro V mainly because it revolutionized EVERYTHING

I'm sorry, but just No.

It was the fifth, maybe sixth, solid core ball brought to market.  And, built upon IP infringement.

Any "revolutionary status" applied to it appears to be due to the number of folks who switched to it when it came out.  Titlist was paying approx. 65% of the PGA Tour to use their product.  The shift of that group to a new product only means the new ball was better than the product being previously used by that 65%.

Or, just perceived as better.

Or it could have been that Billy Andrade won with it in the first tournament that it was used in.

That's happened with a LOT of things in professional golf.  Balls, clubs, shoes....

Precept EV Extra Spin and the Precept MC Spin were GREAT balls when the switch began to solid golf balls.

First ball that I started buying specifically was the Precept MC 392 (I think it was just called the MC or MC 392 before they went to "MC spin").  Then afterwards, the U-Tri Tour.  Great balls, soft, durable, and less expensive than similar balls from "bigger" names.

Maxfli HT balata or original wound Maxfli Revolution.   A lot of nig names played the HT.  Remember watching Jack and Freddie at the Memorial years ago both using it in the skins game they used to have.

B330S was also a favorite of mine.

Best recent ball(s) - 2019 TP5 family. The TP5x is the longest tour-level ball I’ve used. The TP5 was the best overall ball. It’s use of multiple layers to produce club-specific flights is unmatched. It’s like every few years, TM puts out a world-beating ball, then dumbs it down for no apparent reason…

Best current ball - V1x. No other ball is able to discriminate driver and short iron flight and spin as well. It has the best “stopping” characteristics of any ball.

Loved the Red and completely agree on the 2019 TP5 line. I played the TP5 for 2 years. Ball was perfect. The 2021 models were huge failures and a major step back. Durability and spin was complete mess.

My fondest memories and ball I loved most was the Maxfli Revolution as well.  I was also a very big fan of the original Callaway Hex Chrome ball (before they added the "soft" to it).

Callaway Hex Chrome + was awesome. Loved that one as well.

Lots of good ones, but here are three under-the-radar balls that stick in my mind.

 - Dunlop Total Performance

 - TaylorMade Burner TP

 - Nike One Tour D

I doubt I’d play any of these today, but good memories with all of them.

The Dunlop is an odd choice I know, but I shot some amazing rounds with it! I don’t even know the construction of it.

The Burner TP had a cult following for awhile.

Nike Tour D was solid and really my gateway ball into premium balls. I think I jumped to the original Z-star and later generations for years with a pit stop here or there with ProV1 and ProV1x. I wish I could get a ball with the softness of the zstar, but with more mid-iron spin. Equipment going low spin has me playing firmer balls than I’d like.

Srixon ZX5 9* driver: Tensei CK Pro Blue
Ping G410 2h, 3h, 4h: Tensei CK Pro Blue
Srixon ZX7 5-PW: Recoil 95 (HS + lead tape)
Titleist Vokey SM7 50, 54, 58: Recoil 110
Rife Cayman (+tungsten powder)
Srixon Z-Star Diamond

1970s Acushnet Club Special or Ram 3D

affordable performance when I was a kid.   Everything since is just a ball with lots of marketing hype.  I buy into the hype, mind you.  But all of todays balls are top notch.

That followed even to the HX Blue, both 3 piece and 2 piece versions.  A friend of mine used to call it the HX Goo.

And good lord, did they spin.

Fond memories of the Precept MC Extra Spin and then the Top Flight Gamer a few years later.  It may just be that I was still in my "improving somewhat rapidly" phase of my golf journey and so I simply have fond memories of those new shots and personal best scores, but whatever.  Those two balls represent a wonderful time of my golfing life.
