Why no one is wearing oversized/high crown visors on the course?

I am curious because I am basically the only one wearing an oversized high crown visor when playing golf. It makes a lot of sense. Visors are lighter, cool air breezes through the top and their larger brims provide better sun protection for your face. Keith Mitchell, Beau Hossler, and Bubba Watson are the only pros I know wearing them. I wonder why you guys don't wear oversized high crown visors? Please explain.

My head is massive, majority of hats don't fit me.

Black hair gets really hot in the sun.

I have kind of a small head so they look ridiculous on me, same with anything with a high crown. I do agree, it looks good on KM but it could be because I don't recall ever seeing him in anything else.

Imperial has every logo under the sun. Black hair does get hot but I also have a super sweaty head. I think you have to accept that you'll always just a little bit ridiculous with a visor on, but they are practical for golf

Cool but doesn't mean they fit me still, have gotten a few hats from them, they don't fit. 

 

I sweat a lot as well and I'm fine with hats.

I am balder than a Cue ball.  Have you ever been burned on your scalp?  You don't want to be.

but I do rock the newer smaller visors in the summer so my head can breathe.

I have a big head and regular hats looks ridiculous on me. The larger high crown visor looks better on my head. Luckily, I have a full head of hair. This Callaway visor looks great.

The Spurrier visor! When he was at South Carolina and they moved to under armour, he wore an Imperial with the UA logo embroidered on the side.

 

There’s nothing classier than a white high crown visor with a club logo. I used to say Imperial was the GOAT but I think my top spot is currently Town Talk. They make the sweat band go to the top of the crown and I think they hood their shape better if you like a flatter bill. 
 

Most heat leaves the body through your head someone once said. So if you can have a large bill to block the sun and have an open top to stay cool. They are the best.

Other than shading the eyes, they are pretty useless as sun protection, hair or no hair.

This just about sums it up.

 

Hair doesn't protect the skin, but it makes skin cancer harder to detect. There's a reason the scalp has a higher rate of invasive melanoma than any other body part. Go figure.

While technically true, it’s only because you lose a lot of heat through breathing.  The top of your head doesn’t lose heat any faster than any other part of your body.

I'm a visor wearer.  I got thick full head of hair and a big fat head, so most caps don't fit right or feel good on my head.  At least visors aren't so bad, but on those really sunny days, I'll opt for a bucket hat.

Back when I had hair, I would wear the high crown visor.  I love them.  But they just dont go well with a bald head.

I wear one on occasion in the summer, but I don't wear them exclusively.

 

The reason no one really wears them anymore? Same reason people don't wear 80's style oversized suits or bellbottom pants anymore. Because they went out of style...

I buy them from a company plain and add patches, found them at our local club with logos. I wear 7 1/2 to 7 5/8 so hats for me a very hit and miss. The linksoul truckers are amazing. Town talk is the brand I wear

I wear a normal visor in the summer 

I recently just bought a trucker cap and have been wearing that

 

I not only hate the high crown visor but the normal hats that are structured

I have to find non structured hats to wear

Never really wear hats much, but just ordered some custom tour visors from Imperial.

 

My brother and I play in my member-guest every year together so decided to get cheeky.  Why not have a little fun.

I had a couple high crowns that I wore.. actually Polo made an all white one with just the polo player in the center.. then skin cancer, then they took out some lymph nodes a couple months back. I'm full bucket hats now, the larger aussie styles make me feel like a sassy cowboy. I'm only 46, always wore long brim hats on the water or offshore, or in wingshooting. Either orvis, simms, or patagonia, but I can't pull them off on the golf course.
