Why do Callaway 'raw' irons still have a chrome plated face and toe?

Because the TCB is a two-piece head. I assume the face is made of a material that doesn’t show rust.

The raw MB heads do not look this way.

Theyre available in japan with the new '23 UW. Can be had for about 350-400 shipped to NA

When I tested the new standard TD it had a noticeably more shallow face than prior Gen.  Looked just like Xanders

There is something about the turf interaction that wasn’t great for “me.” Not saying I’m a tour pro, but as a + cap and ball striking being my strongest attribute, the sole didn’t jive with my swing.

The gapping there is what's interesting to me. 16.5* to 23* is pretty huge, I wonder if that 23* is bent to 21* as it definitely looks to have been modified in other ways as well. The weight in there for example looks like it's been sanded down and the grooves are blacked out.

That's interesting because he did have the 21* in the bag previously. I wonder if this is a replacement or just a gapping/face angle choice.

Wouldn't surprise me if his previous UW was just slightly longer than what he wanted after sufficient on-course data was analyzed. 

 

The Mizuno 3 iron and that UW must take turns based on course and weather conditions. I'd imagine this week would be the 3 iron's turn as the wind will be up for at least the first 3 days.

IIRC the original UW was like 1.5-2* stronger than stated.

Off the rack, but players also had their bent from the tour truck as they had a fixture to do it (so did the assembly plant IIRC for +-1-2* of loft and lie when custom ordering)

Interesting, the explains the kinds of ball speeds I get off my 19*. I actually have a 21* on the way because the "19*" is a little to close to my 4w.
