I picked up an Adams RPM lp tour prototype with a Grafalloy Blue X in a pawnshop for $1 the other day. Actually forgot about it and haven't hit it yet, but it sounds like I need to.

Not sure if these count as sleepers, but if you can pick them up for under 100 buck I think they should count.

The cobra LTD was and still is one of the longest fairways I have ever hit. The thing went nearly as far as my driver. Don't bag it cause it was actually too low launch and spin and was not that great off the deck for me.

My favorite 3 wood of all time is the TM M2 HL 3 wood. I have one with the tour AD-DI in it and it just hits all the right numbers for me. mid trajectory, 2500-3000 spin, 230 carry, and consistently straight. It actually kicked my epic subzero 3 wood (which I had custom painted orange and black) out of the bag. Believe me, it hurt to make the switch, but the M2 was just that much better.

Last 3 sets of fairway woods have all been from Tour Edge Exotics. Just great clubs that perform well for me, plenty long, and playable.

Same here....it's the XR Pro 16* for me....an excellent head. It's beautiful behind the ball, sits perfectly square, and launches the ball as hot as anything on the market now.

It’s new but the M3 15 degree is the best 3 wood I have hit.

Kind of a sleeper because no one seems to be talking about it anywhere.

I play a 915f at 15*, but I've got an 18* Cleveland Mashie on the way. Don't really know what to expect but excited for a 5wood that might beat out my 3hybrid.

Adams Tight Lies Titanium 3+. Launches like 5 wood, spins like a driver and you get basically the same result no matter where you hit it on the face. You almost have to try to hit a bad shot with it. Super underrated!

But, the Mizuno MP 650 has got to be one of the biggest "sleepers" of all time.

Good question. It's really hard to say.

Hey, did you guys hear that Dustin Johnson cheated on his fiancée? Deleted all his photos from myspace or something.

I still have a callaway diablo tour in the garage. It was my brother's but he bought something else and I stole it. Even with the stock cally stiff shaft it played magnificently.

But the one that really wanted was the Ping Rapture. A buddy of mine had one and it was an absolute beast.

I honestly don't know that I've ever liked a fairway better than the old Taylormade Tour Spoon from like 1992. Basically a strong 3 or 2 wood, but it had a great kind of curved sole profile that made it easy to hit from the fairway, and that compact head felt great! Anyone else ever play one of these way back in the day? Hammer of the gods in its time image/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I played that three wood in high school along with its big brother in 8 degree. Still have them in the attic with matching titanium shafts in some odd color, red I think. The head covers and grips disintegrated years ago. Awesome woods as I remember.

Powerbilt Persimmon Fairway Woods? Just kidding. I have been playing for over 30 years as well and have been through a lot of fairway woods. The Titleist 904F stands out for me, I also had a Yamaha ceramic/fiber glass? type 3 wood about 20 years ago that was a real beauty and performed excellent. Another one is the Sonartec NP 99 I believe it was (NP as in Nick Price).

For sleepers it's got to be the original Tight Lies or the Orlimar TriMetal - both awesome and no one saw them coming. Tour Edge Exotics probably falls in that category too.

For classics from the big companies I'd say the original Steelhead (loved the unique sound and feel, great off the deck trajectory) or the Ping I3 (way ahead of it's time for forgiveness).

Other Steelhead and I/G clubs have been great, but hard to be called a sleeper when they're in the same family of an already great club (same for R and M series Taylormade)

I had one of these as well as the tour brassie 12. I found them tough to get airborne but they played like a driver. Very small profile, if you had some speed these were a weapon.

Amazing what some people in here consider "sleepers"... The majority of the time people are posting the hottest 3-wood on the market and the most widely used 3 woods on the planet.

Do you guys even know what the definition of a sleeper is...

THE M3/M4 IS NOT A SLEEPER.

    The Srixon F45 would.

I think it's funny how fast the narrative gets changed. Didn't OP say sleeper? Then it turned into a favorites post. Lol! Not a problem just noticed

    My sleepers are

    Mizuno CLK-F

    Mizuno mp650

Nickent F26ti.... Don't care for the sound or slot on CROWn that much but boy is everything else about this club perfect!

Not sure how widely played it is but I think the cobra bio cell plus would qualify as a sleeper. Came with matrix q3 stock. Not easy to hit but for guys with game it's a cannon. I bought one cheap but went back to my trusty tour edge Bazooka jmax, which is also a sleeper for the wider golfing population. My 50 year old body just couldn't get the low launching cobra in the air.

Review on the 2012 Cleveland Mashie 18* for $37 shipped: worth it. Easy to get in the air, hot enough face, light but good shaft, good off the deck or tee. Don't know how these weren't more popular.
