Had to laugh OP...you remind me of guys who wear all their football garb on Sundays and pretend they were great players in HS ....even if

they only played when their team was down/up by a big amount ! As far as the cheating,and the theft,Before you go there,why dont you post the

names of the witnesses or accusers ? If some one says he is a cheater,stand up and lay it out there. Seen anyone doing that ,yet? Neither

Patrick Reed is a throwback to the old days of pro golf. He keeps to himself, does it his way, and he wants to beat your face in if you're his opponent. So what if he has some skeleton's, who doesn't. The tour needs more Patrick Reeds. He's a refreshing change from the usual "frat-pack" if you ask me. His golf game and his win last week took me from casual to full fledged fan.

I can only find the incident of Patrick Reed supposedly attempting to play the wrong ball in college. Other than that he is a loner at tournaments and a little abrasive. Tiger on the other hand in his heyday would not autograph equipment for other pros charities, would spit lugees after bad shots or putts, throw clubs, was often limited to the “F” word after bad shots (a trait shared with Patrick), was not friendly to the better golfers in his prime only the ones he beat like a “rented mule”. Was extremely rude and annoyed by the media that was responsible for his golden child image. Of course nobody says anything but Tiger regularly marks his ball like Lexi did...carelessly from the side, not directly behind it. Of course I’m sure the reason is he doesn’t want to step on his opponents line by stepping directly behind the ball.. Patrick appears to be a slightly more pleasant version of VJ Singh.

Nope has marked his ball like Lexi did (and still does) his whole career. Not saying he is cheating, just Lexi catches hell for it and Tiger never has. Neither gains anything in terms of shortening the putt. Tiger isn’t the only one that tosses the marker behind the ball from the side and then flicks it into better position with their finger. Only Lexi caught hell for it because she was the only one they had the camera on macro for. Point being Reed gets labeled a controversial golfer where Tiger still remains the darling even though they share or shared many of the same “faults”. So far Reed isn’t a sex addict (which appears Tiger still is accordingly to his last few partners)..

Lexi was penalized for how she replaced the in a different position. Tossing a coin down and nudging it into position is fine. As is marking the coin to the side of the ball. As long as the ball is replaced to the same spot is the key.

 

You are the only person I have ever read that says Tiger cheats with marking and replacing the ball. And yes, if you're saying he replaces the ball in a different position don't say you're not calling out cheating.

I wouldn’t call the clap he received as lame. He was received as a champion.

 

 

Tiger and Phil may well be jerks off-screen (only the small circle of their friends and family really knows that), but in front of the camera, they bring charisma and style and a ton of talent that makes watching them fun--plus they've always played the game with integrity.

What part of Reed’s 72 hole run at Augusta was not played with integrity?

 

 

Reed, however is a grinder who also often acts like a jerk, seemingly neither honest nor likable, with an ugly swing to boot (the clubpointing at the sky finish annoys) and when a guy like that wins a major.

 

Arnie, Furyk and Trevino all possessed atypical swings. All won majors.

 

 

While we're at it, does Reed not have the time/money to hire a trainer and get himself in shape? I know golf is really a game not a sport, but we appreciate it when the stars help us maintain the sporting illusion. Because if golf is a sport and we play it, therefore we are athletes! Rory got in killer-shape, and has been much more popular for the effort (golf is show business, after all).

 

Jack was a fat Word not allowed most of his career. Stadler, a rather large guy, has a jacket too.

Rory fell apart at the 2018 Masters.

 

 

Reed has none of those things (did I mention how tough his swing is to watch?)

I see two ways (I'm sure there are more) that Patrick Reed could go that would flip a disappointing script: 1) hit the gym, get thoroughly jacked, and throw yourself 100% into the villain, bad guy role. 2) Confess your sins, make amends, reconcile as best you can with the people you've harmed by your selfish behavior, and change your tone and way of treating people. That's a far tougher switch to flip than #1, but I suspect Zach Johnson could probably get Reed into the tour bible study, which would be a great start down road #2.

 

Something tells me our OP wears antiperspirant on his forehead.
