I heard on the grapevine that Cobra are going bust hence TM pushing into the Cobra like Black / Grey crown M5 / M6. Could be outrageous to say but maybe the Orange has more meaning than we first thought #TMRickie

 

To put your mind at ease about the clubs themselves:

 

You’ll see the fire orange on the top half of the staff bags (which really pops with the black lower half and white lettering), the club letter/number on the black head covers, shaft decals on stock. On the drivers, subtle single piping and minimal color fill on the sole of the drivers, but outside of that small stripe you won’t notice anything but black/gray on the club itself.

 

If anything, you may be surprised about the light gray carbon on the majority of the M5 driver sole which is certainly a new look.

 

I cannot wait to see the new M5 440. This color scheme sounds better, light gray vs white..

 

Think it is 435 in the M5

 

Our order form says “family 1 440” so guess they will stick with 440 even though I preferred the 2016 430

Hey, if they can match jailbreak performance and put in in a package that looks like the M3 440, I will be interested. TM consistently puts out a smaller model while Callaway makes one and keeps it tour only. If TM keeps making it, there has to be some sort of market for them.

Interesting, if it’s just a coupling fastener to compete with jailbreak, why would it be an attachment that a consumer can get a wrench on? I look forward to seeing more details!

Thing is, the actual speedfoam isn’t what makes ball speed jump, it more acts like a support beam for the face so TM can make it thinner, so I’m thinking this face will be the thinnest face in the industry and with the speedfoam to keep it from cracking (fingers crossed)

Or maybe the foam will just be in the bulge and roll parts to increase its effect? Who knows

Just thinking out loud but it would be sweet if the screws covered something like a gravity core that Cally used in the alpha drivers. Maybe one neutral and one weighted in one end so you can get your four major settings

Count me in as intrigued. It's one heck of a counter to Callaway, at least as it pertains to the marketing aspect. Performance could definitely be there as well, but that's TBD for just a few more short weeks...

I was also invited to the launch last week and got to see and test the new product and the enthusiasm is warranted. Exciting things coming in 2019 for TaylorMade.
