What up with Jordan?

Moving away from the ball and flattening his swing seems to have had a detrimental effect on his accuracy, especially with the long clubs. If he does that, he'll be back on track quickly. If not, hopefully he'll get it dialed in eventually.

It’s that simple. I don’t care what anyone says. He will never hit it as good from the position I last saw him in. I am simply shocked that McCormick has allowed that swing to be ruined. The chicken wing pundits will chime in and tell you how ugly it was. They are just showing their ignorance. Anyone who controls the face as long and as well as he did can finish the swing however he wants and win. Sure it is not the most powerful. But newsflash. He doesn’t have the extra gear. You’re born with Dj or Rory speed or you aren’t. You cannot teach that. Not from 110 all out to smooth 125. Not going to happen. Not when his fitness was already top notch.

Now he’s a flat , two way miss , mess.

Yeah I liked his old swing. It was different, and he won with it. I feared for his ankles more than anything, but again it works for him. Now he just is lost. It's really too bad. He didn't need to go from 110 to 125. He just needed 115. I don't think he needed to change his swing, just hit the gym.

Actually his CHS is still at around 113 (pretty much same as 2015). I'm not sure what his changes have done for him.

Exactly right. In a weird way, the Open may be a chance for him to get dialed in by hitting a lot of hold-off punch shots. That movement thru the ball would be closer to his old move.

Totally agree- reaching out for the ball for a tall player almost never works out and begs for a two way miss

Meh its a major, those #s are meaningless. The front 9 is way easier on this track so tough to get into alot of trouble.Wouldnt be surprised by another 67 tomorrow. he has that look

Perhaps. What is not meaningless on this track is his tendency to hit a few loose drives on the weekend. Royal Portrush will absolutely punish those wayward drives.

He sprayed it around pretty good on the backside and still shot par on the back.its gettable from those misses. tomorrow will tell us alot however lets not forget he was in the last group last year at this same tourney and conditions were way, way tougher on a way way tougher track.

This game is and always will be a mental battle. Why not just say water is wet.

It’s that damn hip bend / flat swing change. Never had a huge hook and a wipe right miss before.

a little misleading, the last 20 groups was higher than that. Rose and others who showed better form than spieth got swallowed up as well. Lots of 77-78-79s from others. it happens, he was never winning this, too far back

Gotcha. If the change in scores is significant, my omission wasn't purposeful. I didn't watch the coverage.

The fact that he was not going to win does not defend a t20 for a “top” player. Rose , Holmes, Kuchar were similar, yes. A “great” is not placated by others suffering similar fates.
