Sorry. To clarify. Tee times available. Just no rooms onsite available.

One quick question for those that may know. Tee times in august if we wait till 21 days out… how bad will the options be if we decide to stay offsite?

Your issue will be getting morning tee times (esp. as a foursome) if you are planning on afternoon replays.  Afternoons seem like they have a decent amount of open time but getting out early is pretty coveted.  Personally, if traveling a long distance, I wouldn't make the trip unless I knew I had morning and afternoon replays locked up, hard to do if only booking 21 days in advance.

Has anyone ever stayed at Windermere on the Beach? Planning a very last minute trip for next week, was able to get tee times but no on-site lodging. Windermere seems to be the only lodging in town that has an EV charger.

Do you have a Tesla?

There is a Supercharger 2 miles from the resort.

Nope. I have a Polestar 2, so the Tesla Superchargers are pretty much the only ones out there that I can’t use. I know about the chargers on property, but would much rather let my car charge at night than worry about it during the day.

Yeah and most likely those staying at the resort will be hogging the chargers.

When I was there a week ago the same folks left their cars on the chargers for the whole weekend (All had California plates lol).

So annoying! People feel the need for that 100% charge and no penalty when it’s all free.

I believe there's a ChargePoint station in Bandon, across from Facerock Creamery on Hwy 101.

Seen some videos posted on social media from this week out at Bandon and was looking at the forecast for our upcoming trip and had a couple thoughts…the weather looks unseasonably nice and calm…is it normal for there to be so many rain free days and for the wind to he blowing mostly from the North this time of year…I thought it was usually the opposite? Also, it appears the gorse is already blooming, isn’t that pretty early in the season? Random thoughts. 11

 days…

I wouldn't call it normal, but is isn't uncommon.  The Oregon Coast is a strange beast, and trying to predict the weather is a fools errand.  You can get 65 degree days in February and 40 degree days in July.  Or both those temps on consecutive days.

Just enjoy what you get; but bring the rain gear, regardless of the forecast.  Best case: it sits in your room the whole trip...

I would make sure to pack the rain gear, wouldn't want to jinx the weather.

Was looking at the website and came away with the impression that the bunker bar was open?!? Seems like this has been closed for a while (I know it was on my last trip);  anyone been recently and know if this is true?

Bunker bar is open, as well as the morning buffet in the main restaurant.

FIRST RULE OF BANDON - Don't talk about the weather 🙂

But no, it's generally not this nice. There's some good and bad, but more bad with wind and rain

I brought two sets of GoreTex rain gear to my first trip to Scotland. We had two holes of rain in 7 days.

I bought a winch for my 4runner after getting stuck, and haven't been stuck since.  I wish I could say the same about that new box of ProV1s.

On a serious note. that's still a good purchase.  During Snowmageddon three years ago, lots of folks here went three weeks without power.  I went 52 hours without power and it was awful.  I keep telling myself to buy one, but I keep balking at the price.  No doubt I'll pay for being cheap sometime in the future.

17 Days to go for my first trip , really getting excited.

Any pizza delivery suggestions from in town? Our group was only able to get two nights of dinner reservations.

I don't think any of the places deliver out to the resort.   Bandon Pizza is the best imo, then the others good.

I am new to posting but have been lurking a long time. I will be making my 2nd trip to Bandon later this month, this one solo. My first was this past October with my Dad, this one just came up on a whim, I called to see if they had tee times. As of now am staying off property at the BW unless a single/double opens up. If anyone is there the 23rd-26th of February, feel free to DM.

"Weather was absurdly perfect, 67° and sunny, zero wind, amazing day. Best weather we’ll have all trip."  It should be pretty nice today, too.

About 70 miles inland, we've had day after day after day after day of fog until about 2:30 PM and them it warms to about 47.  It's been this way for WEEKS.  The weatherman forecast 67 for yesterday and today.  We got to about 50 yesterday.  Right now it's 10:30 AM and the fog is nice and thick.  Enjoy it over there. 🙂

Day 2 Recap

Played Pacific Dunes in the morning with pretty heavy fog for most of the front 9. Wind picked up around the turn and moved the fog out thankfully. Course is absolutely stunning, even when foggy. The dramatic topography and how Doak fashioned bunkers and green sites out of is truly amazing. Though I will say there are some green sites that are borderline unfair (6 comes to mind), couldn’t imagine playing them in heavy wind. Aside from that small critique, it’s my favorite course here so far.

Played Preserve again in the afternoon. It was fun playing it with some wind and seeing how much different it plays. Made a quick loop of it before the Super Bowl and went to the Tufted Puffin for dinner. Burgers there are delicious, fries good as well.

Moved over to Lily Pond, room is nice, newer bathrooms it seems. We’re all kind of shocked by how large the rooms are, seems almost excessive with the size of the showers but no one complains about having too much room, right?

Didn’t have time to go through pictures.

Body is holding up okay, ankles are killing me for some reason though. Been making it a point to stretch pre&post round, and it has definitely helped.

Have Trails at 7:40 this morning and Sheep at 1:10. Looking forward to playing in some rain, this is the PNW after all.
