I’m not at alll a airport expert. But.

If it were me. Id fly into GSP ( Greenville spartanburg) and drive down. It’s a modern airport , yet relatively small and certainly not crazy busy. Zero traffic into and out of it as it’s tucked off the interstate 85 in the woods. You can go from airport property to interstate with no traffic. Then you’re around 2 hours away. Same as from Atlanta , without the crazy Atl traffic.

The airport exit is about 10 min from the I26 /i85 interchange and i26 is what you’ll ride south through Columbia and then jump over toward Augusta. You skip all metro areas that way.

My streak is now over. That was the annual rejection letter streak. I have been selected for practice round tickets this year and signed on and purchased Tuesday practice round tickets. Sorry for all those who didn't get selected. I have applied every year since the lottery has been in existence for both practice and tournament rounds. I think I just wet my pants! :D

Woo hoo! Going to Augusta baby! And on Weds too so I can see the par 3 contest! Found a hotel (90 min away) and hotel, car and airfare are all free courtesy of a lifetime of travel and hoarding points for just this type of event. So more to spend on swag! I can't wait. They probably haven't changed their cellphone policy so I am gonna have to buy a high-end digital camera to take pics of the course since I have only used my cellphone for pics for the past 8 years...

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but while I'm excited to get a chance to go, I'm even happier that I can give this as a gift to my dad. We grew up fairly poor, with a big family, and my dad has made so many sacrifices for us kids. He's 80 this year, and still in good health, but the time window he has to be able to go is closing fast. Plus my mom passed a few years ago, and golf is his life, so this will mean so much to him.

Absolutely NO cell phones, iPads, etc. for any round. Digital camera, even exchangeable lens cameras are allowed during practice rounds. I had my camera there when I went in 2015 for the Monday practice round.
