PGA TOUR Superstore - disappointing!!!

Recommended Posts

Just made my first ever purchase on pgatoursuperstore.com. After hitting a friend's Exotics CBX 3 wood, I was blown away...and had to have it. So, after seeing it online at a very favorable price, I clicked "buy." When I got home today, FedEx had left the package at my door...and I was pumped to go out this afternoon to give it a crack.

Little did I know, despite purchasing what I thought was a "brand new" club, I opened the box to find a 3 wood that had been hit multiple times (pictures attached). I called the local PGA TOUR Superstore that fulfilled the order...the clerk's solution was for me to take the plastic off of the head, and to then see if it looked like it had been hit (?!!?!?!?!?!!).

This will be my first AND LAST time shopping with PGA TOUR Superstore. Very, very disappointed. And yes, I will be returning this club.a2yaa5sjbca5.jpeg

I mean yeah, its obviously been hit, but the shrink wrap from the TEE factory is still on it so its probably fine. If you got it for a 'good price' and the face is new underneath then who cares?

It's usually better to call customer service, rather than a store clerk. I purchased a 'new' putter from them online and arrived with a fair amount of chatter from being on the display green prior to shipment. They offered me the option of a discount or full refund. I felt like it was pretty fair.

They have a 90 day guarantee on their club purchases, I’m sure they would return it if there was a problem or you just simply didn’t like it and wanted to exchange it. When I was there last, I went through some wedges that looked like they had been hit and picked the ones I preferred, that’s the advantage of going to the store. I can tell you my experiences with the PGA Store and a specific fitter that works there has been great. I have purchased irons, wedges, and a driver from there all this year.

Me personally even though the club is structurally sound I would take it back or at least demand a partial refund to compensate for giving me a "demo" club instead of one that has never been hit.

Go stomp your feet and demand some money back on a club that is a 2 yr old model and in the plastic. You deserve to keep the club and get at least 80% of the purchase price in a gift card!

same here, I was expecting a different response from the Golfwrx community

I'm on board with this as well. If I purchase brand new I expect brand new, not a floor demo. This is not uncommon with PGASS as there was a member here with a similar story but with a putter just a few weeks back. It's a shady move on their part IMO.

I'll never buy clubs from PGASS online either. Bought a "new" putter that was delivered looking quite used. It may have never been sold before, so "new" in their eyes, but someone gave that putter a good beating in the putter corral. Had lots of large dings and scratches.
