and here you go again. Since theyre primarily sold at private courses and country clubs makes no sense you see more at munis. I rarely see anyone playing them at public courses. Private, yes.

Mine were very cheap ($550 used) so I agree. Just don't tell Pat Perez since he's playing them this year.

There are NOT remotely enough people willing to fork out 2k-5k for a set of golf clubs. To do that one has to be highly successful, committed to the game and think PXG is the best, which is subjective, plus not every customer is paying even near retail for PXG. Additionally, those that buy using time payment CC are not likely second-time buyers. So, it wouldn't shock me if it's learned PXG faces P&L red ink problems, especially if the owner's tax liability elsewhere has dwindled not calling for the red-ink cash-flow that PXG has likely provided. The other influence is good golfers tend not to change clubs nearly as often as club ho's and club ho's don't spend 2k-5k. The other thought is can't imagine what PXG's tour presence costs along with tour contracts.

Consider though Titleist has a strong tour and contract presence it has #1 Titleist golf ball revenue to offset it, along with a highly successful line of clubs where their best can still be had for under 2k.

PXG, IMHO is really positioning itself as more of a lifestyle brand. With the introduction of clothing, and also looking at their website and they also sell PXG branded dog collars and leashes and backpacks and duffels. Not that they don't care about being a performance equipment company - I believe they do. But they are looking for people to buy into the PXG image as a whole. I could argue that Ben Hogan is doing much the same thing at the other end of the pricing spectrum. They are also selling backpacks and duffels. No clothing - yet - but who knows. And both appealing to polar opposite ends of the spectrum. BH to the more button down tradition crowd and PXG to the, well, PXG crowd. And both offer pretty decent looking full bag solutions.

PXG inspires backlash because it's a luxury brand. A luxury brand that pops up overnight declaring itself a luxury brand is a little eye roll-inspiring, no matter what industry you're in. It's like... declaring yourself cool is very uncool.

I wished I played the top 100 regularly. I live in Pearland, Tx and belong to a Club Corp Course. Magnolia Creek is basically my home course and there are probably 4 - 5 of us with PXG clubs. The few times I do travel I look for nice courses to play that are reasonably priced.

So, it would appear that you dislike PXG and are allowing that dislike to cloud your comprehension skills. If you take an unbiased look at what Parsons said, it can be reconciled completely. THPgolf reported that several dozen employees were laid off _and_ more soon. Parsons says this is not true. The inclusion of the word "and" in THPgolf's report creates a conjunctive statement. In order to be valid, it would have to be true that PXG laid employees off _and_ more are to be laid off soon. Parsons, presumably with no plans to lay anyone off in the near future, can properly claim THPgolf's statement is false because no layoffs are planned. And, given that he admitted that 26 employees didn't make the cut, it seems quite clear he isn't disputing that employees were laid off.

I'm also seeing a possible net +15 employees, correct? That's assuming they hire 41 more but at least that is his plan.

All the negative talk is making me want to run and take advantage of the heroes program just to be "that guy" unfortunately quite a few vets at my course have them and love them, the only ones who didn't like them never got fitted and just bought online. On the other side anyone hit the 0211's vs the gen 2 0311?

Ben Hogan clothes have been available at Walmart for years. It’s actually pretty good stuff. I think the clothes even predates the club line reincarnation by Terry Koehler.

I have. I went with the Gen 2 0311's. The 0211's are fine, but I've been playing forged irons for a while now and I just didn't get along with the 0211's. The 0311's, to me, feel much softer with better responsiveness.

I have an 0311X Gen 1 4 iron and it is very soft feeling. More so than the 0211 5-W. If the Gen2 is an improvement then it will be even better feeling.

PXG debates are as bad as the jacked loft debates. Some people just cannot get with times or understand anything outside of their own box of thinking.

PXG gets a lot of hate, but even if you believe they have no performance advantage how is that any different than a lot of high priced shoes and apparel from NIKE, or purses from Coach. This is true for many other brands in many different retail segments.

Just because you cannot see any value in one particular thing does not mean that someone else will not see the value in it. Just because you did not see a performance benefit from a specific set of irons does not mean no one else will.

For an example, my personal opinion is the PING i500s are a horrible set of irons. But that does not mean they are horrible for every golfer. Nor does it mean nobody else should want them.

So for those of you out there that think PXG has no value to them, or no performance benefit to them, that does not mean the same is true for everybody else. Get over it.....worry about what's in your bag, not someone elses.

Looks like Bob fired 26 poor performers and reallocated resources to 41 positions that will offer better yields to the company. Net +15 is not a layoff, though when your bread and butter is tied to one OEM (Callaway) I guess it’s OK to recklessly cast opinion as fact. Dr. Bob, just give away a bunch of free crap to those guys and they’ll revere you too.

hahahaha right?!?! I have no room to talk as I actually own 2 Infiniti's as well. You feel a heck of a lot better pulling into valet in a qx80 than you do in an Armada. Both are quality products but one just feels better.

You are quite right and sometimes I forget the convoluted way the Ben Hogan name is managed. The Ben Hogan trademark is owned by Perry Ellis who licenses it out, including to the Ben Hogan golf equipment compamy. As you pointed out WalMart carries a line of clothing bearing the Ben Hogan name and even Roger Dunn golf shops sells/has sold some Ben Hogan branded clothing (a little higher quality than is found at WalMart). So I guess its conceivable the Ben Hogan golf equipment company could introduce a line of clothing as well but not sure what agreements Perry Ellis might have in place that could prevent it.
