Just throwing this thought into the mix, IMO whether you’re afraid you’re going to regret buying one driver over another, definitely get fit if possible like I did for my M5 outdoors at the current weather at hand. Last few days been testing my own indoors with same pro v1’s with same swing out on course, and I’m no where near 270 total on the course like I was indoors, thus why traded what I recently tested & bought, which thought was yards further than my M5. M5 stays until new Ping drops later this year.

Anyone else seeing that this driver is really fade biased? My back has been sore lately and I have the Ventus Black 6X in it but no trouble turning over the TS3, M5 or G410LST so far with the Black. I’m hitting a 9* Max but just having a hard time hitting a draw.

Same reason I got rid of my cobra extreme, the only way I saw it draw was I handed to a guy that had a 120 SS and it was a small draw. Must be something about these new max drivers even different brand names that have this anti-left in them. I know it could be a swing flaw but if you had a normal draw all the time and don’t have a problem with another club I don’t know what else to say.

I have a sim 9.0....I like it ok but wouldn't mind a little more spin......Trying to decide between sim 10.5 sim max 9.0 or sim max 10.5......Any suggestions?

Ordered a 9 degree Sim on a whim. Gonna pair it with my 7x ventus. Hopefully it'll show up versus my m5.

I tried the SIM 9 and my spin, once in the right shaft, plummeted to the 1800 range. I got switched out to the Max 9, in the same shaft, and it got back up to the 21-2200 range.

No LM data, but took the Velocore out on the course today for the first time after playing my first 3 rounds with the "made for" version. Shaft feels and performs the same on the course for me, but I'll probably keep the Velocore because I'm a sucker for marketing

I had a impulse buy yesterday! Got a SIM 9 deg head from my local guy to test out! Looking forward to Monday! I have 3 shafts to try in it. A Diamana BF, Tour AD VR, and the ew shaft I just won here the Motore F1! It’s going to be a fun day!

Was probably my crap swing coming out of winter but I demoed a 9* yesterday and could not get it in the air. Sim 9*, might try 10.5 somewhere or the max

Made an impulse purchase of the Sim in 10.5. On monitor, I was getting 15-16 launch and consistent 2000 spin. Previously I've needed lower loft to keep spin down, hitting low bullets as a result. It's a rare driver I can launch over 11 degrees and control spin. Only around 150mph ballspeed, so this makes a big difference to me. Didn't notice a fade bias, but then I do tend toward a hook. Best driver to look down at in a long time. Love the exaggerated pear profile. Reminds me a lot of the SLDR, but more forgiving and a nicer profile. Some may not like the small face. If trying, consider lofting up as SIM will launch and spin too low for many in the lower lofts. Came from a Rogue SZ in 9. Also a very good driver.

Mine was super light. 195grams. Ordered stock everything because I just wanted the head. I put an m5 weight in to get it to 205 at 44.5. D4.5 ish on my economy scale.

Interested in this. wondering how you manage the large weight differential between the heads using the same shaft - Max so much lighter than the 410+

I have my Max 10.5 set .75 low with 4-5 grams of hotmelt in the heel and I have zero problems turning it over.

Now my M5 I had issues with the fade

Might be a stupid question but here goes.... has anyone noticed that the weight track doesn't have the "notches" like the previous M5, etc had? I moved the weight around a bit but then when I tried to move it back to dead center I noticed there was not ridge for the weight to get it exactly centered. I know we are talking less than millimeters here but did anyone else notice that?

I assume one just has to eyeball it?

Add another thumbs up to the SIM Max + Ventus Black. I don't have any launch monitor data yet, but coming from the M4 + Synergy Black, it definitely appears to fly higher and farther.

You are correct. No notches. To get it centered there are visuals on the front side of the track. There is raised lines from heal to toe you can use for reference.

I believe in previous responses on this topic I left out specifics.

I ordered my SIM Max from a friend at TM and the build was dead on. Ventus Blue Velocore 6X Tipped 1.5”, Tour Velvet Midsize with 4wraps(61g), 45” playing length.

The rear weight in the head is 24g and the build is D3.5 swingweight. If I switch to a heavier driver shaft with a slightly different balance point I will install one of the lighter weights. As of now the Ventus with the tipping is just awesome!

I played the non-Velocore 6x in the Max yesterday and I missed a few left, and a few times it got a little pronounced on the kick. I will be putting the ADIZ in it next. I have the Velocore in a fairway and it is great, much more stable. But no direct numbers at this point.

First round today at Apache Creek with the new SIM

10.5 and TZ5 M5 65 combo, and only missed 3 fairways.

Can’t tell distance right now as it’s been 5 months since I’ve played, as there’s still 2 feet of snow back home, but really happy with the point and shoot combo with this shaft.

Las Sendas Thursday morning will be a good test.
