My guess would be it was to smooth off the tungsten plugs they added to them. 
Why they didnt figure that part out on the first 32 go arounds is beyond me. The tungsten has been a part of their mb/cb clubs the last 4 years

I saw those irons today able to see what the 4 iron and 7 iron looked like at address.  I really wanted to see the short irons/wedge but they wouldn't let me upset the packaging lol...

It is interesting how much higher up the tungsten plug is compared to his previous sets that have used them, and the graphic accompanying the current REV33:



The only reason to do that would be to raise CG, and thus increase spin. With all the hoopla about these irons, Rickie not using them for awhile, swapping shafts around, changing coaches and making swing changes etc etc, it seems like what he wants/needs has probably been a bit of a moving target and 33 revisions wasn't quite enough, lol. He likely needed a little more spin either because of the ball he is using, the change to the MMT shafts, or maybe a combo of both, so now we have a higher CG REV34. 😅

I didnt even know the orig rev33 had tungsten in them. I glanced at them on cobras site when they released. After a bit of drool looking at the pictures i noticed the price. Closed out that tab quicker than a teenager getting busted on the skin sites!

 

Also seems like Rickie has been experimenting with too many things at one time. Cant imagine its helping his game much at all.  
 

I do remember seeing a “day in Rickies life” video a couple years ago and one clip showed him on his laptop and it was 100% the WRX forum he was scrolling through. Maybe hes been on here more and we have been a bad influence on him causing him to tinker more🤣

Currently 167th strokes gained approach the green, and 209th on par 3 scoring...maybe we need some rev35s with big ol' cavities.

I really like pulling for Rickie, but maybe he needs a combo set of Forged Tec & MIM's to get those numbers alot better.  He's just too nice to not pull for.
