Anything new with Srixon 2022

Recommended Posts

For those thinking about the ZX5 driver... Do it. It is awesome. Forgiving and long. I had my longest driving season last year. Part of it was due to a golf fitness regime, and part of it was forgiveness of the ZX5.

Hoping for new bags from Srixon...

It won't happen, but I would love if they dropped a waterproof bag.

What is remotely epic about this link?

The timing is 'epic' because the poster mentioned that XXIO was going to have a major release in early 2022, and a few days later they did. The release itself might not be all that epic (since we are all WRXers and don't need that lightweight XXIO stuff... amirite?!?!?!), but the timing was pretty coincidental.

I think part of the problem is that release cycles have really changed. It used to be leaks in October, release in January at the PGA show. Now, it's more of leaks all year long (look at the TM Stealth) and releases whenever they predict a product will do well and they can meet the supply chain demands. That said, 2022 has some good products coming under the umbrella of Srixon/Cleveland/XXIO.

Srixon - Major ball releases. You already saw the new Q-Star hitting the shelves with more releases coming soon.

Cleveland - Huge releases late in 2021 with the Launcher XL and Halo lines. They also just released the CBX ZipCore and they have something else in the game improvement wedges as well. You may also see some additional finishes coming soon in other lines as well.

XXIO - Should have the major iron release in early 2022 due to the fact that the XI are all but gone. Look for a full refresh in their lineup this year.

Overall, the biggest issues with anything right now are shipping costs and supply chain issues. Shafts and grips are going to be hard to come by - so look for paying for premium shafts if you want your custom orders sooner rather than later. Grip selection is getting tougher as well. Some grips are 6 months out right now and others are discontinued all together.

PS - for those thinking about what the next gen could look like, I would take a long hard look at the ZX7 AW... I'd be shocked if they didn't keep with the lines of that going into the next blade.

Great info here, thanks!

Yeah, the ZX7 AW is phenomenal and it would make sense for that design to be carried forward to new Blades. Those would be a heck of a combo with ZX7’s for sure!

I like my Mizuno MP's but I'm questioning the performance I've been getting out of them compared to other irons I've recently demo'd especially Srixon which I'm seeing really REALLY good numbers from.  Better than Mizuno.  The new Mizuno's are nice, little tweaks here and there but I certainly would not call them significantly better than my MP's      The Srixons feel incredible as well.

I think if you are on the Mizuno thread you will hear they are better hear Srixon will be better. Every iron is subjective to each person’s opinion. I never hit the Srixon but they are beauties. I did just purchase the new Mizuno Pro 223 set. Both are great can’t go wrong with either.

I watching todays golfer on recap of the best 2022 mid handicap iron review and the host said expect the zx line to be replaced soon. I love my zx7 6-pw, 4 and 5 zx5.

I am hoping they just release new blades and don’t touch the zx line.

Srixon is on a 2 year replacement cycle on the Z7 and Z5 series which means an update will likely be coming this fall. They've continually made fantastic irons, I doubt you'll be disappointed with what they come out with. You can always just scoop up a backup set.

Also, if you love what you have who cares what gets released. Of course there will always be new cycles.

As just mentioned the 45 line was amazing and people seem to love the ZX.

If it was possible to buy a new set of 945/745 combo in the shaft and grip combo you want, i would be happy to pay todays retail prices for it. Seeing as that isnt an option, and i am not in love with the looks of the ZForged (i know doesnt impact performance), i am hoping they just release a blade that is a zx9 and fits with their other offerings.

Newer doesn’t mean better. 745 and 945 still played on many tours. ZX series is unbelievable.

I agree. I hit the ZX7 side by side with the 745.  Granted I was only able to hit the Zx7 with the Modus, but Z745 is still a better looking, feeling and performing iron IMO. I waited until I could hit the ZX7 to be sure, but went out and found a mint set of 745 as a back up. I am still excited for the fall release though.
