Taylormade Stealth 2……it’s happening?????? Black and Red

Honestly not really feeling it. I kind of like the matte crown in the the OG stealth. I guess the sole is ok but I prefer the Og in that area as well. I feel much like I did when the sim2 came out and I stuck with my Og sim for another year. Unless this thing is much better than the stealth 1 I’ll probably pass. But highly interested in the fairway woods.

Just like every year, it will be a battle between Titlest, TM and Cally for me.  Can’t see anything beating the TSR though.

Agreed. Long time TM guy.  Moved to Titleist after a 25 year hiatus from the 975D.  If TM releases a 400cc head I might  reconsider.

I think the crown looks good in this pic.

The sole of the 2 looks very Sim 2 Max like to me which I think is a good thing.

I thought the Stealth Face felt really good and was more forgiving on off center misses but the gen 1 drivers were just too low spin for me.

I’m very optimistic.

I’ll probably buy one too but I just cannot see it beating out the TSR4 for me.  The TSR4 has the extra gear that the others drivers lack.  It’s still fun testing out new gear though😃

I am curious if it will beat my current stealth plus.. it will be very difficult. I matte’d my own driver so it looks good too..

Will TW have it in the bag tonight?

Rory bombing it might be better for business. Tiger is also switching to a longer ball for the match, which also might be good for the new driver if they have them in their bags today.

I’ll keep singing the praises of tweaking the “lower spinning” models like this and dropping loft it spin needs to be reduced.

Cobra and Ping aren't going to win any beauty contests either judging by what we've seen of those, think I'll be going down the TSR route. Shame as i thought callaways Rogue series is actually quite good looking as well as the Cobra LTDx range

they still gotta make the carbon face work (long term durability) in the drivers!

I don’t know that their failure rate is any worse than a typical titanium face. Obviously I don’t have the stats. I’ve seen a few accounts here and there. But no numbers that would make me take pause in ordering one.

Something tells me the reason the pics are still up is because Tiger and Rory will both be gaming it during The Match tonight.

... Probably covered already but a multi billion dollar company doesn't come out with new technology that they haven't tested for years before introducing it to the public. If there was any kind of failure rate that was even a tiny bit concerning, the TM tour stuff wouldn't be playing them. One thing for us to cave/crack a face in a friendly round but quite another to be in contention when it is the way you make a living and having one fail on the back 9 Sunday. I know many love a conspiracy theory (especially against TM) but there is just no way TaylorMade risks the reputation of their entire company with a face that isn't as reliable as any other face on the market or have a similar failure rate. Fwiw I played a Stealth a month or so before switching back to my Sim2 Max because performance was virtually identical for me and I liked the sound/feel of the Sim2 a little better, but no problems with anything about the Stealth.

The failures I saw were a result of epoxy failing that holds the face in the frame and the carbon face delaminating. I never saw a single account of a golf ball blowing thru the face so I think TM are in pretty good shape overall.

The tour guys get their equipment replaced every tournament, they don't play their clubs long enough to see them fail. They're playing a different game than you and me, and there is plenty of evidence that the durability of these carbon faces is very poor.
