Presidents Cup International Squad (*** NO LIV DISCUSSIONS/REFERENCES ***)

I'm not sure who ultimately is in charge of the Presidents Cup, if it's the PGA tour or whoever,  but they need to be on their knees thanking Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim for playing the villains role to perfection and making this has been event a must watch Sunday. Also the golf channel needs to be on their knees thanking these South Korean golfers.  Cuz I know for God damned sure I wasn't planning on watching a minute today on NFL Sunday but I ended up watching almost all of it. That's all.

Some great golf today.  Class event.  I agree with those that say the Korean members of the International team made it worth watching.  That Thomas-Kim match was excellent golf.  Thoroughly enjoyed all the coverage I watched.

This was won on Thursday and Friday. Although the score ended up being respectable, this was an easy win for US. At no point was there ever any doubt the US would win after Friday. I went yesterday, absolutely great atmosphere, great crowd. Good job by the Intl team to make things interesting and not giving up, respect.

I didn't watch one minnof today but read this over coffee while researching NFL injuries. Kiz is a good match player on one freaking course. Spare me the crying we dealt with over Sheffler being picked over him. Spare me that stupid a** It ain't no hobby crap.

I think plenty disliked him before this. He’s always been outspoken.  People don’t like outspoken individuals.  It makes them feel reality.  Both in themselves and in total.  
 

let’s remember. Billy Ho has one of the greatest records for taking care of his caddie on tour. Ever.  He shared the wealth when he won the FedEx.   He is by all accounts a great family man.  And has no scandal that I know of.  And yet , he can attract as much hate as Patrick Reed some days.  Doesn’t really make sense.

Some thoughts: South Koreans made it a respectable event in keeping the score close. The SWK vs. JT match was exceptional today. Tom Kim coming out party as well, will root for that guy in future events. Were the Intls hurt by not having Cam Smith and Jaco - probably - would it have made a difference - doubtful. Kis was good for a laugh but doesn't belong out there. Scheff had a pretty dog s*** weekend. Spieth putter looks to be getting hot again.

Spieth has an uncanny ability at making long putts and hole out chips/pitches, agree with Blade, he has been doing it since he came out on tour 9 years ago so doubt it is luck

Between the two of them and the football field's worth of putts that were going in. The superintendent or whomever can be considered responsible for the condition of the greens should get a raise.

I didn't watch a ton in part because i had my own tournament this weekend, but like most have said the South Koreans were pretty enjoyable to watch.

 

Maybe the Presidents cup team should just pick like 2 countries and then stack the team with guys from those 2 places only. Might get more team spirit. I always thought the main issue with the international team was why would someone from Canada feel a common bond or whatever to go out and beat the US with someone from Japan or Brazil?

 

I'm Canadian and i'd probably rather watch US vs Asia than what we have now

 

But like most have said that last day could've been a lot worse

Golf was really good.  Very low on the excitement factor since it was over after Froday.  

One thing about the PC is that lack of a heated rivalry we have with the Ryder Cup.

Aint no hobby only plays good on certain courses. It's the same every year. He's an atrocious pick for these events.

 

He gets worn out, doesn't hit it nearly far enough.

gotta give the International team its props, after falling behind on day 1 they sucked it up and darn near played even the rest of the way, they played very well on Sunday, or maybe a few Americans were leaking oil

Then he was benched by Love-3 for the afternoon matches.  

 

 

Don't know if anyone caught the coverage of the trophy presentation.

They tried passing it to Scheffler and he wouldn't touch it. 

 

Or, when Schauffele walked off the final green sealing the deal - he was being embraced and congratulated by his teammates.

Scheffler walked over halfheartedly with a frown and a meaningless hug. 

 

He was so clearly embarrassed by his individual play it was palpable. 

 

And that's what bugs me about Scheffler - why be so darn selfish? 

Why not put your pride aside and enjoy and celebrate the moment with the TEAM (and not focus on what didn't happen with you)?

Scheffler has spread himself very thin the last two months, he is running on fumes, he better revamp his schedule for next year, Im a huge fan but the same putts that were dropping earlier in the year arent dropping right now. He now has the luxury of not playing every week , he needs to take full advantage of that. He did not have a good President's Cup
