What's the loudest driver ever?

There's a guy at my range that uses the Cleveland Hi-Bore, the one with the weird shaped crown. You can hear it from the parking lot.

A friend has the Honma Beres Black driver. All-titanium construction. That's pretty loud, but not altogether in a bad way (unlike the Nike SQ).

Goes a mile, too. Great fun to hit, but also very expensive.

I remember playing at one of the local courses during a weekend blitz when someone teed off with that obnoxious sounding Nike SQ on the tee up ahead of us. Some guy from 2 fairways over hollered over........shove that thing GD thing up your A..  Everyone in our foursome just busted out laughing.

My kid used to absolutely bomb his Cleveland HiBore. Yes, it was loud. Heck, I cant even stand the sound of my Ping G425 Max I won at an outing. I'll keep my TSI2, thanks.

Cobra was loud, but I’m going to go back a bit on y’all and say the Driver made famous by Calvin Peete…..the Cubic Balance driver.

Found it!!  Knew I had it somewhere sitting in a closet.  Might have to bring it to my next range session.

I agree but i think you mean the SQ SUMO (the square one). The original Sasquatch as a pear shaped driver Tiger played

 

The SUMO was the one that sounded like an aluminum bat that Lucas Glover played in the Open

I had that Wilson Spine and it was incredibly loud, especially on off center hits, which I had way too many of.  I had to quit using it due to embarrassment.  As for that Ping ISI-Titanium I remember my brother just getting it and using it for the first time, there were 4 groups of us playing on a Sunday morning and he was in the first group off and I was in the last and every time he teed off we knew by the sound it was him.

Played with a kid the other day that had a Callaway XR and it was the loudest driver i’d heard in while. May not compete with the Nike or Cobra, but definitely up there on the decibel meter.

I'd echo that.  The noise probably depends a lot on swing speed, but even at my swing speed it was pretty loud, to that point that their slogan is "Loud and proud".

 

I had a couple long-drive friends---the kind who genuinely hit 400+ yards---and their Bang drivers sounded like rifle crack.  Not a really big one, but not a .22 either. Maybe a 30-30.  I don't remember which exact model they were playing, but one of them eventually won the Remax and got sponsored by Bang, so he had his choice.  

 

They weren't allowed to hit my 525, since they'd already caved in one of theirs.   Since the 525 is no considered longer conforming, I've now got a 460cc Bang-o-Matic.   I'd say that it's a little more muted, but it's probably just because my swing speed has decreased with age.

When I first started playing a couple times a year my Mom bought me this non-conforming 500 cc driver for Christmas one year, and I didn’t know any better at the time. The thing was a cannon!

I still have one of these. It's soft as velvet compared to that Nike mess. Nike SQ is not just loud. It's ugly loud. Empty Bud Light cans make a better sound.

You are 100% correct! That was the one I was referring to. That square driver was the ugliest and most obnoxiously loud thing on the course! I could be 5 holes away from someone using it and know exactly what they were playing 🤣

There is one that I have hit and for the life of me cannot remember the name, it was blue and incredibly loud. 

I am sure they are still around, it was a small Company but not a component Company.

It was also very long if you could stand the sound.

Hit some of my longest drives with the Wilson Spine, and it announced it's presence to everyone on the course.

It is not the loudest, but the Epic Flash Subzero was disappointingly loud.  It was a great driver but sounded horrible.  You would think all the tech that goes into a Callaway driver wouldn’t sound like a tin can getting kicked down the street.

I played last summer with a guy who still uses one of these. Every shot sounds like a baseball being chucked at a metal garbage can. How they ever went to market with this thing is beyond me. Dude hit it pretty well though.
