Which driver under $150 are you gaming?

Hypothetically, if your driver broke and your wife is not happy about it so you have to keep the replacement under $150- which driver are you buying? Asking for a friend.

Probably the driver that is the closest in generation to what you played and worked well but is < $150.  If you play Stealth, it's probably some sort of M-series or even R-series wood.  If you play PING, likely G or G400.  Callaway, probably original Epic or maybe the BB 2015 models.

Depends what broke on the club - if it’s the head I’d buy another head same loft if it’s the shaft just get a new shaft. I only play sim max so cheap to replace.

$150 range - Cobra Radspeed or Radspeed XB.  If you can step up to $250, Cobra LTDx LS is a great club.

My Sim 2 Max can be had for about $150 and has been fantastic. It will be for sale in a couple weeks when my new stick gets here.

I'd probably pick up a Callaway mavrik or og sim. Lots of good options from 3-4 years ago around that price range.

A couple of safe options would be a TaylorMade M2 or a Titleist TS2. Both are forgiving and long and can fit golfers at any level.

Whatever looks decent in the used club bin at the golf store.  Those drivers are like lost dogs at a shelter. They want to be adopted. 

For example, about 5 years ago I bought a used Nike Vapor Fly Pro for $80. That thing remains a valuable addition to my driver stable.

I picked one up in 2018 from CPO for $50 after price adjustment (30% off sale started a few days after I bought it) and trade-in of a Callaway XR driver I had collecting dust.

About when I purchased mine from RBG pre-owned it was ~140 in good condition with an SVS7 in it which I still have but put an NV 85 in it which suits me better.  It does not have the best sound/feel but it works and plenty forgiving. I don't really care for the "speed fins" but it's an after thought now.  Nothing has been able to kick it out.  The closest was a Cobra LTD!

My local EW and GG used bin prices are so inflated it's laughable. I see some 4 year old beat to crap drivers where they are asking for 250-299...total joke. Maybe at a more local golf store or Play it Again. 

 

Much better off trying BST on here or Ebay. 

 

I used golf market isn't what it used to be ever since the golf boom during Covid. 

 

I do see lots of decent deals on Ebay, but even those asking prices have really gone up the last few years.
