His stance from the beginning was "partnership" and the PGAT not owning golf.  He was right about the PGAT not owning golf as a game.  They took their hardline stance in the name of "traditions of the game."  Traditions die like "Caucasian only;" that died because it had to, but that was a long standing one until the 1960s.  The game has changed and today, it changed in a massive way.  Eventually their position was probably much weaker than originally thought and they decided that the business of the PGAT was more important.  Maybe collusion was a word that was starting to come to the surface.  Either way, the PGAT wins, the players win, the DPWT survives in perpetuity, and of course PIF has a solid foothold in golf, like they do soccer and Formula One.

 

I for one friend, am glad that the feud is settled.  It's not ideal, but it's settled.

I just didn’t like LIV because of the fracture. This is wonderful news to someone like me. I now get to watch ALL of the best players in the world competing against each other week in and week out.

Greg Norman is not the PIF, so I don't see how he has a seat at the table for any of this. He seems to be out of a job.

As I predicted. LIV was a terrible product...world-class awful. But there was no way that some of the best players in the world would be sequestered for any length of time.

 

It was a no-brainer to take the money.

how can you be so sure? also how is it remotely shocking at all?? pga tour was going to get shlacked by the DOJ antitrust. this is them avoiding that the best way they can. they f***** around and found out bottom line and norman was right to take a stab at the tour because it worked. its time to stop lying to yourself man especially using this debacle as a metaphor for whats going on all over the world today. grow up

I actually don't think you will. The way I read it, the three tours (PGAT, DPWT, LIV) continue on as normal. They just share a commerical entity.

Sorry, maybe not my field but if they were losing the litigation, why can't the PGAT just tell them to go pound sand then?  They're losing and the PGAT says, "heck of a time to let them buy us out, why not?!"

Agreed.  This is very much like Jay M went and struck a deal with the PIF which will undercut LIV Golf.  I've given Jay M a lot of flak and called him a hypocrite (which he is btw) but this was a stroke of genius.
